Rockkid, you lucky girl! What I wouldn't do to be outside in the sunshine today. I can't tan though. My face, arms and neck/chest will sometimes get light brown (and I'll get enormous numbers of freckles on my shoulders), but my legs DO NOT TAN. Ever. Even when I think I have a bit of a tan, someone laughs at me and tells me how white I am. It's really easy for me to turn a nice shade of lobster red though. NW: black t-shirt, faded jean skirt, just below the knee with a front slit, black flip-flops.

Speaking of legs not tanning, I have been trying for 2 weeks to get my legs to catch up with my upper half. My face, arms and chest are pretty bronze but my legs are pale as the day I was born from wearing capris and clamdiggers, etc... It's just that I hate shorts and I've been dancing at this stupid garden place (ya know, statues, lakes, roses, blah, blah) so inbetween performances I've been sitting in the sun reading...
BAH. And now that I'm making a conscious effort to wear skirts and short sundresses so I can tan my legs, they are really resistant. Why is that? AND I went to the pool and STILL no darker. I look like a farmer. WHat is it about legs???
NW: red halter sundress with indian print, tattered jade thong sandals, aquamarine/silver ring. sunglasses on my head.
my contraband nailpolish is deep burgundy and has to come off in about 30 minutes.

My legs burn really, really easy. First part on me to get dark, followed by my back, then, finally, my front upper half, which never wants to tan.

Speaking of sun-burnt legs, 4 or 5 years ago we vacationed early in the summer(June it was)on an island in Green Bay which had it's own wooden dock/pier which went out into the water 40-50 feet....so we brought recliners, food, beer out to the end on the first(very sunny)day and spent 2 maybe 2 and a ½ hours out there....and my SHINS were just burnt to shit! Tomato red and painful, bigtime....friggin Noxema-boy for the rest of the damned summer!
I blistered and peeled and then just KEPT peeling, only my shins, for 3 goddamned months.
I'm blaming the double-dose of sun, which includes the reflection off of the water there. First time that I EVER had that sorta sensitivity....since then, sun block on my shins, first thing when I know we're spending a day outdoors...

I don’t know, legs are always extra work except for luke I guess. I cheat on em’ dose o’ fake n’ bake in the can followed by real tanning. It works. Day 2 in the rays for me momentarily & I can’t believe how much I fringing read yesterday while sitting out. Voracious!
Tale of caution…….. I decided to mix Amaretto in with ice cappuccinos last night for reasons unknown & while separate both are nectar of the gods, together…….. ohhhhhh violent reaction. Never again!

I've got some great little denim skirts which would look fantastic if my legs were tanned - but mine don't ever, either. I'm so pale and my natural hair is kinda strawberry blondish - so it's not going to happen unless I go in a booth (ewwww, aging!), or get some fake tan.
Has anybody ever found a bronzer which isn't orange and doesn't streak?

I live in Australia... tanning comes natural here... tanning booths are virtually non existent, and fake tan is mostly regarded as a waste of time...
But we've also got a shocking rate of skin cancer goin' on...
