. . .and now, time to reply to none other than myself, in the reflexive spin cycle that is art! Anyone a Matthew Barney fan? I have a pirated copy of Cremaster 2, anyone wanna do a dvd burn trade? Am looking for any of the Cremaster Series (excepting The Order, obviously) as well as any of the Drawing Restraint series. Especially #9, cuz his wife Bjork, and my fav singer, Bonnie Prince Billy, are both featured.... Let's work a deal!!! Leslie Dill: Here's a good site for images: www.arthurrogergallery.com/artist_pages/Dill/dill_tap.htm I saw this chick's chic show in D.C. and was very very impressed.... Anyone into Paul Kos? (if only i had more access to the big city museums.... gotz to make a trek to chicagy or san franny a.s.a.p., cuz i'm cravin.....)

I have recently gotten into Jorge Luis Borges, thanks to an intro from Thorn.... Amazingly, he seems to pop up EVERYWHERE now.... An article by Jerry Saltz at zah' Village Voice: So it goes, with love... "Of this impossible but sublime meeting in the 64th line of the 64th canto of The Divine Comedy, Jorge Luis Borges wrote, "Beatrice existed infinitely for Dante; Dante existed very little, perhaps not at all, for Beatrice." www.villagevoice.com/art/0607,saltz,72140,13.html (if you'll notice the image, i'm thinkin Oliver North wants some of his own little blue minions...)

the secret track in my brain.... recorded only in limited edition.... buy now while supplies last.... you won't regret it... blah blah blah. alright. i'm done entertaining myself here. letting off some excess energy not properly expelled at a show (somewhat milder than i expected) tonight. had a couple bands on the local scene mixed up, and got a bit let down when the spindly wild guy with the crazy antics wasnt fronting the band I THOUGHT i was there to see...alas. stil, got some beer in me. "Low" should be better on Montag. Yay! (although by no means lively...)

I could be talked into talking ArtsyFartsy stuff...but that 'cum-flavored' adjectival rendering to the title makes me involuntarily gag ever-so-slightly when I read it....
That 'Pictures' section had an Art portion where some stuff had been posted FWIW...

sigh. methinks i freaked out the pepes with my lonely ramblings toward art fartedness.... i suppose i appeared too despair-eaten,....my alacrity too obvious and naive......too anxious to find pepes with whom i could engage in ostensibly flippant conversation about the sector of life that filled my god-shaped hole....
see, i'm not talking about decor. i'm talking about art that provokes....installations that inhale viewers and require that they share their own oxygen with ideas.... involvement... interaction...
hold on there...i'm not talking about pretentious bullshit... self-absorbed artwork that is not accessible to the average joe...i'm talking about art that makes you think....and not just in a conceptual way...but abstract ways....
artists that make you re-evaluate the concept of time.... that make you re-evaluate language itself.... like bill voila....ann hamilton...
when i said "cum flavored" i was thinking of matthew barney's metaphorical semen, running all the way down the Guggenheim spiral in Cremaster 3, part of which you can rent from Blockbuster (The Order).... here's a guy struggling to understand some intense sex and gender issues.... or is he bullshitting? i don't think so... i've read the big silver bullet of a book on the topic, and it's quite fascinating.

one last thing about cum....
i used to be a spitter.... i swallowed once, by accident (unexpected spirt of jism, as i'd only been working at it for a minute or two....), and i thought it gave me a stomach ache....
however, i recently changed my mind and have decided to let that salty oyster juice coat my throat... i'm getting used to it... i kind of like it... i imagine it's full of all sorts of vitimans, like bee pollen... i have to make sure that when i swallow my mouth is not so cramped by the flexing of huge dick within that i am prepared, but i'm into it now...
does this speak to something larger? a full throttle embrace of some thick throbbing art core? ahh.. probably not. i'm just rambling here in my private board. don't even think of posting here if you're only seeking to placate or satiate my hunger if you have no true passion yourself.

I will say this, sisyphus . . . your passion is palpable . . . I can feel it dripping from your tongue, drop by drop . . . its quite refreshing I must say.
I only wish I could contribute to the discussion . . . alas, I know not of this "bill voila", nor "ann hamilton" (though that name, I admit, does ring a tiny bell . . . just too faint to register...) . . .
Hence, my one conclusion as for the non-contributors to this board, is that mayhaps few about this region of cyberspace know of these artists, either.
Surely it can't be for the explicit mentionings of that bittersweet elixir half the world craves daily to release unto the other half . . .
Your passion is
~duly noted & ~appreciated, sisyphus
