i really don't think it's a cat at all. just something taking the form of a cat.
(as for my father, if it had been my stepdad in my dream i would have understood, but in the dream it was my real dad, who is a sweet, sensitive artistic pooh-bear that would never ever feel anything but love for me.... so that's what made it weird. this empty pooh-bear shell stalking up the stairs for me.)
has anyone noticed certain foods giving you bad dreams all night? i don't know.. i think milk and cheese give me really bad nitemares. revenge of the cow.

I understand cold temperatures can lead to bad dreams . . . (not sure if I believe it)

heat definitely, definitely does. on christmas i curled up in front of bf's dad's fireplace and proceeded to dream in swirly horrifying themes of death and pain, woke up sweating balls in front of that fire.
dunno about cold. probably. fever dreams and stuff. it's interesting.

what the hell does that mean?:
I had some insane dreams. In the first, I found myself walking through a small outpost/village in some sort of desert. The whole thing was made of gray clay. Outside, it was dry and cracked... Inside, it was more moist, dank, and rubbery... like a partially dried pot you’ve just thrown but have not yet fired. I went inside, and felt like I was in a strange maze of barracks. There were cell-like rooms all over, laid out in a grid pattern. I had a feeling that I was not supposed to be there, and that if I were caught I’d be hurt. I stumbled into one room where I saw an emaciated woman with long dark hair working busily over some kind of incubatory light table. I went inside, and for some reason I knew that this woman was Marina Abramovic. She sensed that I needed help, and told me I could hide in her supply closet, which was really just a nook without a door carved into the clay wall. I realized that she was running some kind of cricket hatchery. But these crickets were HUGE and slimy with transparent skins, like something from a TOOL video. Soon some sort of authority figure approached, threatening to kill Marina Abramovic, but she told him that he needed her if he wanted to keep his his bird alive. He had this bird with him that was about 2 feet tall, and it looked just like I imagined the “painted” bird in kosinski’s novel would look like before i actually read it... Red was its predominant color. This bird had been scavenging to survive so far, and the king/authority figure loved it. Now, however, it required more nutrition than ever. Maybe it was about to molt? Either way, I got the feeling that on a diet of these crickets, the bird would grow to an immense size....like 50 feet tall or something, and Marina was the only one who could produce the sustenance it needed, and so her life was spared. I kept running, because I didn’t have the same leverage she had.

wow, thats an intense dream. Thorny will fix it, he's a wise man.
I've noticed I have very way-out dreams when I'm sick. Probably due to being hepped up on cold n flu meds though. And spicy food makes for lucid dreaming.
Cold weather increases your chance of developing schizophrenia, so I can believe it screws around with your dreams.

Post yer crazy dreams, man.
I don't know what the effect of weather on schizophrenia is, but people in colder climates are more inclined to get it. Tho...globally the incidence is 1% of the population & thats pretty stable. Winter = more depression, we know how that works, but its not clear how colder climes really affect illnesses like schizophrenia.

He'll probably appear more 'normal' in relation to everyone else there

he's pretty good at "looking" normal, until something sets off the paranoia.

Is he a paranoid schizophrenic? I have an ex-boyfriend who I suspect is an undiagnosed shizophrenic. He's a very nasty person (not that schizophrenics are nasty! Just that he is, and he fits the criteria).

The group home you're working in S, is that with a schizophrenic population?
