Did you catch WATAIN - (also from Sweden) - - ? They played Denver the day before they played here. It was a sick show, just a few days ago. The singer from Watain, named A, laid the smackdown on this skinhead who was trying to disrupt the show. A literally leapt off stage and beat this sorry fuck into the ground, sent him home bleeding like he deserved. The sorry ass skinhead was trying to start a mosh and then he literally attacked A while Watain were jamming -- yanked him off the stage and begin beating on him. It was a brief scuffle from which A extricated himself quickly and jumped back onstage to resume jamming - -but ten minutes later, A stopped again and pointed to the skinhead who hadn't even been tossed out. He screamed something about "Wot is He do eeng here still?" and then - - with supreme heroism worthy of his status as a blackmetal warrior - - he leapt offstage, ran across to where the dumbfuck stood, and proceeded to deliver a serious beatdown right there. A few of my friends standing in that area brought some swift boots to the skinhead's face, then A fled back onstage again, satisfied his vengeance was fulfilled, and WATAIN continued the rest of their set with real savagery. That was some genuine ultraviolence goin on. It was very satisfying to watch. Best twelve bucks I ever spent on a metal show.

ahahaha, lol.. akin to nascar and hockey, sometimes it's worth seeing a band just for the chance of violence ensuing.
that kicks the shit out of my story about cradle of filth's denver show years ago where some fat guy tried to crowdsurf and jumped off the stage, landed awkwardly on a small woman and snapped her neck. whoops.

Needless to say, the bouncers escorted the bruised and bleeding skinhead out of there at that point, they had to peel him off the concrete floor. It was a good thing the bar didn't call the cops. The rest of the show was an inspired onslaught of blazing metal hate. My friend Jhon (of black seas of infinity, who opened) slipped me some magickal elixir - for real - a combo of aconite (wolfsbane), whitethorn (hawthorne), mandrake, and other secret herbs - a potentially deadly cocktail if not for the whitethorn (which counteracts the lethal aspects of the aconite) - all which resonated swimmingly well with the fool moon and the ritual magick ceremony of the black seas of infinity show.

She die? If so, then your story wins by an edge for brutal death points alone But yeah, seein' the singer from Watain - who, by the way, is a small guy - -that made it all the more hilarious, considering Luke (the skinhead) easily has 40 pounds of solid muscle on him - - so watching this little Swedish blackmetal guy in corpsepaint and fake blood / bodyarmor, deliver Luke the beatdown of his life in front of everybody, well, yah on irony & action alone it is a tough story to beat.

what was the effect of the elixir? DO YOU PLAY MAGICK THE GATHERING?! I have a sudden suspicion we cannot be friends after all.

i'm pretty sure i just missed opeth recently at the ogden theater. i still haven't gotten gaga over them, and don't have the money anyway. My first Sigur Ros show was at the Ogden in 2002. What a great venue! Pretty much excellent seats wherever you are. Good acoustics, too.

Are you talking about the one in Denver?
The Ogden is my favorite theatre in Denver. People try to say The Gothic or The Bluebird have better acoustics, but you just can't beat a nice small venue with good stageviews no matter where you are and sticky floors to keep you grounded. Doesn't hurt that it's like three blocks from my apartment.

That was years ago. All my dice are dust. I manipulate, transgress, and otherwise mold real magick for my various non-nefarious reasons through the seasons.

"real magick" = as in, the Alan Moore definition.
i.e, "a disease of language" . . . .

Say no more. Once I heard there was no Magik The Gathering involved, it was all good. I don't really understand what D&D is, but I gather it's not so shameful as Magik.
No, that lady with the snapped neck didn't die. I don't know why. She went to the hospital obviously. Maybe they gave her a new head.

As for the effects of the elixir:
It caused me to shed dead moon skins.
The results were (while on the elixir) clarity of foresight.
I could see the manifold of events spread out before me clearly.
That is to say, it had an effect of enhancing my premonitions.
For instance, because of having swallowed the elixir, I now know certain things that I previously wasn't focused on, exactly.
Namely, that we are all in a time of intense flux right now, specifically, this:
+ Partners will be changed
+ Friends will be at odds with each other, if not enemies
+ Enemies will see eye to eye more, perhaps become friends
+ Couples will break up.
+ Trend Reversals Are Swinging Into Full Effect
- - etc

Doesn't hurt that it's like three blocks from my apartment. That's the one...we drove 10 hours to get there for that show. It was well worth it, we got one of those table seats just above the pit. VERY close to the stage. Probably better than floor seats because the level of the stage was even with where we were sitting.
