My father broke it to me on the 1st of this month, surprising though i did have premonitions i didn't acknowledge, that him and my mother are going to seperate after 26 years of marriage. I never thought they'd break up, oh how real things get as you get older.

I'm sorry to hear that Shane. I know it's rough to see your parents split up, even when you're "grown" and out of the house, they're still your parents. Hopefully it will work out for the best for them, whatever they decide.
Let me know if I can do anything to help you with this.

Thanks guys.
It's kinda funny, sometimes u can look at other peoples lives, relationships, and you can sometimes see what they might do differently to make their situation better or think you can give them a new perspective on things. What's really funny is sometimes you can do the same thing for yourself, but not do anything about it.

Sorry to hear about that too Shane... must truly be a sucky situation to be viewing that all as an adult, too... I imagine it would be hard to sorta process, as they are both people who have influenced you somewhat in the way you think. Hope it all goes as amicably as possible though... sorry to hear it too... although I am late with my reply here... ... only just re opened this topic for the first time in a few months...

Hate to hear that, Shane. If it's a separation, perhaps they'll reconcile. Mine were divorced when I was 13.

What if you think one of them is being a close minded shallow moron?

ain't nothing you can do about it. i've pretty much given up on acting on anything i think my parents are doing wrong. A, they're not going to listen to you because you are just a stupid kid who can't possibly know what's best for them, and B, maybe i am just a stupid kid who doesn't know what's best for them. so what if my mom is descending rapidly into insanity! whatever floats her boat.

hey, how's everyone doing? this board kinda died when i left. maybe it's a sign.
this is my second day on lithium for mood swings, which is pretty much my only problem anymore. i'm in a happy place and most of the time i'm smart enough to know i deserve to feel happy, and i enjoy the piss out of it. but lithium... i'm a little freaked out. has anyone else here been on it before? will i turn into a vegetable?? will i feel anything at all after a couple months? aah!

I really wouldn't know what effects lithium has on the body... I wonder if there are any resident medical - types who could inform you better...
Ltaely I have been focussing on the VERY happy things ahead of me.... like seeing Mellie in a few short weeks... a VERY happy thought I seem to be carrying around lately... I just wanna be with my girl! :-)
