well, rutgers seems like a possibility to me, as it's cheaper than i expected, plus it's a state school. but the campus i'd go to is in the middle of a crime cesspool (camden), so i'd be very nervous about going into there.

ohh..i've heard terrible, terrible things about rutgers. i don't live in NJ, so they could all be rumors..maybe it's a nice school, but from i've heard i wouldn't want to step foot into that school.

That's weird...I thought Rutgers had a really good reputation outside NJ. Maybe you just heard all the stuff about RU having a really high STD rate. It actually does, but it's still a pretty good school academically.

"Plus your guranteed to get some."
haha. for some reason, i don't care about that at all. in fact, i'd rather be away from that.
rutgers is sounding like a better option, especially since i could take the speedline we have here and get there pretty quickly. wouldn't wanna take a car... one of my parents took one to that area once, and they never got it back... haha...

Maybe the Rutgers-Camden campus. I've seen some of the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus (oddly enough, parts of it aren't even in New Brunswick, but in nearby suburban Piscataway), and it's not so bad. I wouldn't want to walk on the street at night in New Brunswick, but it's nowhere near as bad as Camden.
Where do you live, slick?

eh, hell. so what if i get shot. i'll just get another heart.
edit: the thing is, i want to go to the school with the best academic reputation i can for the amount i can give. i'm guessing rutgers is ranked decently higher than college of new jersey and rowan.

yeah, i guess i shouldn't have said that rutgers itself is terrible..but, from what i hear the area it's in is. but, i'm just a big scaredy cat figuring out what college to go to can be such a tough decision, but i'm sure that you'll make the right one, proud ;D punkchick, i live in pennsylvania.

Proud, RU has a fairly good academic reputation, but The College of New Jersey has an even better one (it's very hard to get into...I got waitlisted from there!). TCNJ is probably the best public college in NJ. Rowan is decent, but not nearly as good as TCNJ or RU (or my school, Ramapo).

sweet. that'd put 80 miles on the car every day, but i wouldn't care too much.
interesting question: back when i was in high school (note: i didn't give a damn about the academics), i never bothered to take the SAT. is that something i should get to, or is that more of a thing for just high schoool students?

I think four-year colleges, even if you're a transfer student, require SATs. Take 'em if you can.

that i shall do.
i'm pretty concerned that i'll mess up, though. i know colleges put a lot of weight into SATs. not quite sure how i could get to take it now that i'm out of high school, so i'll have to investigate that.
