apparently i have to take the SAT to apply to TCNJ, unless i can find a way around it somewhere... gave a faculty member a call, hope i get a response (one that's to my liking, anyway).
there really seems to be a lack of good colleges around here. i'm really set on TCNJ, so i hope things work out one way or another. rowan seemed kind of... ghetto, to say the least. one of the buildings looked like it had bullet holes in the walls or something.

2 of 'em were used, and still the hefty price.
found out that i don't need to take the SATs. the lady who i asked was very nice and very direct... i hope that there're a lot of people like her over there. so i'll just work on this application and hope for the best...

thank you for reviving the topic, ma'am! you do me so much good. those classes all sound interesting to me. i took a film appreciation class in high school, and i loved it (we looked at movies from all eras... silent, wartime, recent foreign films, and others). if that class looks at the film business from different eras rather than just recent years, i'm sure it'll be great. though i'm sure music in our time will cause headaches and mild depression. hold on there, ms. punk! *busts a few rhymes* i started class the other day... seemed alright, but i still wanna register for another class to make it five. need my credits... i'm still not satisfied with my gpa as well, though i guess it's kinda high... random update: it's occured to me that your boards name initials are PC, and mine are (were?) PI... politically correct and politically incorrect! perfect.

Way to go PC! I managed to graduate without ever having taken an 8 o'clock class until I began student teaching. That would have been asking for trouble for me!

i've never had a class earlier than 9:30, thankfully. but i have 3 long years of school left (and then more as i don't want to stop with a basic degree) so there's plenty of time for me to run into 8 o' clock classes.
i took one class for five weeks this summer, and then another five week class after that. took a little time off, and missed school during it. now classes have started again, and i don't think it's what i was looking forward to. plus i have to work a bunch of hours lately, so i have no time to study. and in my art appreciation class, i have to learn all about painting techniques and even do some art stuff of my own. i have NO artistic talent. this is so gonna destroy my gpa... beh. i don't mean to complain too much, though. i guess i have to keep my head high, but i think i'm taking a class i should've never gotten involved with. this isn't to say i dislike art, but as i said... no. talent. whatsoever.
as far as my applications go, i'm thinking of tcnj and rutgers (camden... i don't wanna go there but all i need to do is get on the speedline and i'm at the campus). i have others in mind, but i'm not convinced that they'd be a good fit.

How Iyearn for those days... getting up at 10 in the morning and still feeling like I had some vague direction in life, for I was a student...
Everybody deserves a good period of laziness in their young lives, I have long thought. Where one can truly discover the wonders of slothfulness, revel in the inactivity, the sheer lack of hassle, such that one's life is enriched when one enters the working world.
You can only acheive true balance between relaxation and hard work by a good period of learning to be lazy.
I salute those with only a few contact hours at colleges and universities, for you are showing us all that laziness is indeed, part of life.
Seriously though, I work pretty hard, I tyhink, and being lazy for a few years while I completed an arts degree gave me the time and perspective to really shape my perspectives and opinions on life, and how I should live it and where it should go.
I miss being a student too!!!

that sounds good and peachy, but i have to say that academics, especially if you're in community college, are quite the pressure cooker. and for transfer students... well, i'm hoping that once i get into a four year school i'll be able to relax a bit. but then i may want to transfer to another school after that...
so, i'm researching...
Montclair State University (i actually know nothing about it, but since it's close to some other schools i want to check out, it's probably worth a look.)
Ramapo College of New Jersey (good academic standards, seems close to new york, and i hear their bachelor's programs are rated highly.)
Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (ever hear of this one, ms. punk? heard it was a bleh school back in the day, but is good now...)
Rowan University (it'd be convenient, especially since i could get to both campuses without too much trouble. even though i don't like what i've heard and seen much at all. except for that one science hall where i got to walk on the roof. that was cool.)
Rutgers University-Camden (it's local. all i need to do is hop on the speedline that's a town over and i'm there. but academically i wonder if it's any good.)
The College of New Jersey (there's simply way too much good i've heard about this school, and it's affordable. if the campus is as beautiful as i hear, i've gotta apply here...)
