Yeah, Don, that was a ways back, wasn't it? Lot of water under the bridge since then! I wish I could find all of the tapes you sent - a couple seem to have gotten lost in the bad time, but I still have some. I do think a Bared Souls would be a nice addition!
I had forgot about talking to Art on the phone - that was some time ago, too! ...And Charmed - wonder what she's up to these days.

I'd love to meet any of you...and if you do plan on cioming to NZ then check in with me....
The posters I'd most love to meet are
glenn...yeah our music tastes just seem to overlap, and theres no one around here thats so passionate about NZ indie rock...any one who posts that Chris Knox is a genius will do me....Oh and a jam session with Roald Servo would be kinda neat too
Ken, The Bear and achn....lets get the bikes out and ride....then get the stereo out and rock...then back to the bikes...yeah i'd love to go riding with you guys...and Ken, The Jam always was my favorite punk/new wave UK band.....Paul Weller was the king....
Stratman...lets talk fire....we gotta have something in common being firefighters, even if our politics are at odds...I'm sure we'd get along just fine
Bow....another whose music tastes somewhat mirror mine...Lou Iggy and Bow...and The Chills...shame I missed you when I was in LA and you were returning from Hawaii...what a difference a day makes
Mary...I'd love to share my record collection with you...troll all the old school punk and 80s new wave...and then I'll introduce you to the NZ section...I dunno why I'd love to meet you but I am sort of intrigued by your personality...your prose is pretty good too...and your music taste has always been mature...yeah I'd like to meet you...
Maarts...JBs was one of the best music stores I have ever been in....and your music taste is so eclectic...I just know you'd love Toy Love...and I'm sure you'd get me into something new too
Phil...I remember when the scarecrow came to rs.com, and the personality just came through...yeah lets get together with good wine and food and turn Zappa up....
Riley....the indiepop that you so often recommend is the stuff I sort of listen to as well...I'm sure with a few beers and a stereo and a stack each of our favorite CDs from our respective countries we could do an NZ, Canada version of duelling banjos...and we'd both be smiling...give me 6!!!!....
PC...oh yeah, the name says it all here...really need a blank generation board and we could shoot the breeze on all things punk...OK all thing punk that isn't too new!!!...I just think we could talk for hours about music....punk was such a big part of my growing up, and I'd love to play you some Scavangers, Marching Girls, Enemy, The Gordons.......
that's off the top of my head...but really, I'd love to meet any of you...I'd love to meet Aaron and Bodygirl too, but then I'm a little wierd....

Strat - what exactly is this "karma"? Can I smite or exalt someone more than once? What if I'm feeling particularly miffed at Art? Could I smite him to -1000?

Yes, but it would take you 1000 hours.

It wasn't until moving to Berkeley that I learned that an entire sub-genre of punk rock is called "crustypunk" because the kids who listen to it are these squatter punk street kids who never bathe so they get all crusty. That was totally irrelevant, I know, but I just had to share. An unknown link between anarchist punk rockers and right-wing conservatives: crust!! Cheers, MMy boyfriend introduced me to many endearing terms (you know how people do that, clusters of friends have their vocabulary words and you kind of get sucked into using them the more you hang out with them) and one of them is "crusty", which can mean: 1. hungover 2. grouchy 3. sick 4. tired 5. all of the above It has become my favorite word ever, as I am usually in one of those states of being, if not all four.

I don't know whether to be insulted or flattered. At this moment, my karma stands at a resounding -7. I haven't seen anyone with one that's lower, so I must be doing something right. I don't think even Pissin pissed this many people off. I don't know what could be so controversial about a simple redneck Texan truck driver (now y'all probably think I'm intellectual--comparatively speaking!). All I know is that I've contributed two popular threads where a lot of people enjoy posting, and this is how I'm paid back? You people just don't appreciate me! I've got half a mind to just take my boards and go home! You computer addicts can just stick your keyboards up your collective asses longways! Does this even look like a New Zealand-80's-indie-new-punk-wave board??? It's called "Which Posters Would You Most Like To Meet?" And hardly a mention for yours truly or even one simple exalting! Don't my rational, coherent posts make a convincing enough case?!?!? God, I can't take this abuse any longer!!!!

Texas is hardly cool these days. Sometimes I think I'm gonna sweat all my skin layers right off.

Ah....it's not that bad, man. You'll get used to it and really I prefer. Keeps the brain a little weird to go outside and get blasted with a hammer of heat.

Well, she said she exalted me once, but maybe that was just a ploy to get me to return the favor. You know those conniving women!
