am I the only person left in the developed world without a myspace acount..or yahoo..or msn...or hotmail..yes I might be, and proud of it I don't have any of those things, either. I've been working on my .mac webpage for something like a year now, and still haven't done much with it. Just doesn't interest me. I figure that not having a myspace account etc. just means that we're more likely to actually have lives.

I didn't say I actually have a life, just that I'm more likely to since I don't have any of those other things. Anyway, I have a feeling that my posting time is going to become much more limited in the not too distant future. So you guys better enjoy my brilliance before it's all gone.

My myspace is set to private otherwise I'd share it. You can find it on thorn's page anyways.

Just started setting up my myspace-page, have no idea how to personalise it the way thorn's done but I'll get savvy on that... Nice page, thorn!
So far I only requested thorn as a friend, feel free to add me if you want to.

geesis. You guys are on MY SPACE! I will speak out and say thats STUPID! (for what its worth coming from me! Let me rate my friends one to 10. LAME SHIT. I boycott My Space. Cos its fucking stupid. I only say that from my friends that have a My Space page and all they care about is their rankings--IM NUMBER 7--to me thats sick and about as rock and roll as yellow parvo dog shit that someones 12 year old son has to pick up with one kleenex.. That doesnt get the horns at all. what do I know? Nothing. It does not change facts... If I ever EVER make a My Space page its gonna be SOCKO the HAND PUPPET or NISKER with the CRAZY THUMB. OR THE HUNGRY DRIFTER--have a picture of Dennis Wilson circa Pacific Ocean Blue up in there--they will have no friends. PARVO DOG SHIT.

Well, to give my side of the story:
I only subscribed because of the possibility to listen to new music, get in touch with artists/bands I really like and haven't heard from in ages (Klaatu! Djam Karet! Tim Bowness! Yeah!) and meet more people. There's not too many people subscribing here and even though I love you all, I do seem to be online when most of you are asleep or at work and real good mates like Scottsy, Mellie and Riley are awol and Phil even gone.
I heard a lot of bad things about MySpace too but I just wanna give it a punt. Who knows, i finally may meet the love of my life and get a social life?

OK...confession time..I use myspace to keep up with what some friends in bands are up to, gigs and the like............but I am not gonna get an acct for me. If I went a little insanse and did get an acct...I would not have any friends. I would need a friendless myspace account...I hate friends that are not...and I don't need to list my real friends just so they know I am their friend

I use myspace almost exclusively to book and promote shows at the store, my top 8 is always bands that are playing. If I didn't have a store I probably wouldn't have a myspace.

This makes perfect sense. I just advised a local band that I have mutual friends with to set themselves up a (good) myspace page for the same reason.

Don't think I've noticed, or maybe I did, was out sick all last week, hopefully I didn't "mass delete" you along w/a bunch of other wannabes, if so, just re- request it & maybe add a comment sayin' "It's maarts" so I'll be sure to know to add you.

As for anyone's hatin on myspace (re: wayved), I can see that, but honestly, I think myspace is the greatest thing since sliced . . .er, email.
I started mine strictly as a way to "connect up" w/all my extreme metal loving peeps here in Salt Lake (Utah Unholy Metal - originally a yahoo email group), and it served as good as any method by which local shows and events could be advertised. I'd log on just to see when the next local metal show was going to be held.
It grew slowly from there. Found some old peeps I thought were long lost, from college days. That's a cool benefit of myspace. Then when you start adding your favorite bands, they send bulletins alerting you to when their new tour might kick off, as well as sending out freebie stuff ever now and then. Not only that - but w/some of the indy type bands, you can actually correspond w/the band members every now and again. That is way cool.
So, although I can understand where someone like wayved's prejudice against myspace might come from, I feel that I stumbled, accidentally, onto a real good thing w/ it. It's a ton o' fun
