And when you're on the polar opposite of an issue as the Doc, you can expect 3 or 4 (... or 5... or 6) distinctly elaborate paragraphs about why he's right and you're wrong. It makes for some pretty good reading.
Yes indeed, Proud. So good in fact that Rocdoc is my favorite poster to read. As is pretty obvious by now (I hope), I don't participate in political, sociological or spiritual discussions around here any more. It was pretty much a pointless affair. But once in a while I'll stop by CE to read some of RD's posts. Always refreshing to hear from such a sharp mind. Some of his posts back in the day on CE were the best I've ever read.

Theres a lot of good points to RD's personality, besides his contributions to CE debates. He's quick-witted and intelligent, and he always takes an interest in other people's lives. He has good taste in music, even if it is a little heavy on the Old Man stuff & he is one of the most globally minded posters on this entire forum, not to mention being widely-read. In our private conversations he is always respectful, never once has betrayed my confidence & genuinely cares about the posters here that he is friendly with.
And you know what? Thats more than you can say about a lot of people in life, in general.
Everyone can be a shit. I can give you a list of 10 things that suck about me, too. I'm sure I could write up lists like that about most of us.
I don't understand why people pay so much attention to people they don't like? If you don't like someone, tell them to fuck off & ignore them. They teach you this in goddam kindergarten.

This place would be a lot less interesting w/o RocDoc around. I (still) wish Chrisfan would return, frankly. A little dissent is a good thing, IMO.
The only poster that I think anyone really wants to see leave is PEW. And honestly, now that I've got him set pretty much permanently on "ignore" he just seems more pathetic than anything else.
But I think that no one here wants to see RocDoc leave. Really.

I would be most disturbed if rocdoc left or changed his posting style one iota because of a few small minded people who have difficulty with his politics and attitude, and like some school yard bullies try to taunt him and make him want to quit here.
I like some spirited discussion...I even used to go to CE, but really chrisfan bored me so much with her dogmatic approach to the right wing political ideals, that in the end i just couldn't be bothered arguing with her. She would change her position and the debate so often, it was like shadow boxing...I couldn't care less about her going....her music tastes and mine were in no way compatible either...did she have music tastes, I can't remember..oh yes..bad taste
but rocdoc
our politics are polar extremes almost, our music tastes only have wee overlaps, but you my friend add colour to the place, and I for one support you here...and you are willing at least to try some of the music I listen to. Maybe rocdoc is one of the few (and it gets fewer by the day) reasons I post anything here.
I don't care about your private boards...good lord, I post on other boards with other people too. But I don't talk aobout, deride or plan to bully you in my posts there. I just object to reading here that you have been secretly plotting to cause trouble here. Yeah go pack mentality.
Honestly now that I know who most of you are, I want nothing more to do with you..I'll do my best to skip your posts, and feel free to skip mine. Hmmm...my infrequent posting has just slowed further.....enjoy yourselves

Well back in the day you encouraged us to fuck with CF and RocDoc for your own personal enjoyment as much as anyone else did, so if you really felt this way, you should have said something at the time. A lot of trouble could have been avoided. |
