I've noticed that it's smelling better around here since PEW was banned again.
Though some of the fumes from the Sedaka fires seem to have drifted in here during the night. Oh well, a little air freshner and you won't be able to tell at all ...

Actually, funny story, I never made that joke about Mary. Probably because if we ever did go to school together, it was during middle school, when I was 11 and she was 14. You probably just assumed that I was the one who made that joke, instead of someone else or something. Or maybe you made it up entirely. I did, however, suggest that maybe we should pretend that the reason why she wasn't being accepted was that there was a huge disagreement over it that "spilled over into Castaways", instead of the actual reason: that Res can't stand her and would kill me if I let her in. No one really was down for that and told me as such, probably because they fear my power. I also apologized to Mary about it in a private PM before she had even read it, so I figured coming clean was in order. I know, how horrible and malicious, right? And since Res isn't around anymore because she spends so much time with her fiancee, there was no real reason keeping her out. Ok, in that case, why did you have to ruin my life by exposing my deep dark secret: that I think the Jam sucks? |

I think you actually said as many bad things about my raving about Paul Weller's latest solo album as you did about the Jam, Shinmeister. But you know what? It didn't bother me. I'm a fortysomething guy now, who gets a huge charge out of knowing that one of his heroes as a teenager is still making music that is timely and relevant in my life more than twenty-five years later.
You'll get the same charge when you're my age and hear something by the Shins, or Radiohead, or whoever and realize that they're still talking to you. At least I hope that there'll be a band like that for you. 'Cause it fucking rocks.
You didn't say anything on Sedaka that would've bothered me if I'd read it here, quite frankly. It's just a generational thing.
And the Jam rocked, dude. How anyone can listen to "In the City" or "Strange Town" and not realize that is beyond me. ;D
