once, in a linguistics class in college, my professor was saying something i can't remember about how men supposedly swear more than women, and this girl raised her hand and said "i don't think that's true, all my girl friends and i refer to each other as corpsefuckers"
there was dead silence in the room for 10 seconds, and then uneasing tittering.

"Cunt" is the ultimate insult. Nothing's worse. No one likes being called that, even as a joke.

Butter dog sounds dirty to me. I have no idea what is it though. Definition courtesy of urbandictionary.com: A mainly Japanese pursuit in which liberal amounts of butter (slightly warmes) are smeared on a bird's minge, and a dog (normally a Golden Retriever) is then brought in to lick it off.

my repressed British sensibilities Is it a little pervy of me to think that this kind of qualifies as a dirty word? Not so much "British" but the "repressed" part.

I'm suggest that it is the inner-pervert in you to read filth into an innocent lady's remarks, Mr Okawa!

"Cunt" really is a vulger word. I really can't think of another that is worse/lower than that. Won't try to sum up why, it just is.
Pussy, Pecker, Dick/Dickhead, even cocksuckermutherfucker....just doesn't even come close in any degree to digging in the dirt as calling someone a cunt, especially to a woman.

My first wife used to enjoy it when I would call her dirty names during coitus. I don't know if I ever used that one, but I'm sure she would have liked it. Degenerate, I know, but we were young and kinky (at least in bed). And Im sure that was more than anyone wanted to know about my first marriage.

I find "the gash that never heals" to be far more offensive.

When sisyphus used the c word (cunt) it was alright cos it was surrounded by great stuff.
When Lemmy from Motorhead uses it, its funny.
Ive used it in the car when someone almost crashes into me but I would never call anyone that for some reason--to his or her face.
Its amazing how the best thing on the planet has a slang word that is so ugly and terrible. I wonder what its origins are....

Cunt The word can be traced back to two words: the Greek word konnus (a beard or the wearing of the hair in a tuft) and the Latin word cunnis (a vagina and the woman who possesses it). Many believe cunnis is actually derived from konnus. The first use of the word appears in 1230 when Gropecuntelane is listed among the streets that made up the brothels area of Southwark, England. Given the environment, it's been assumed that the term became a shortening of the word and was in wide use at the time. By the 15th century, though, cunt was viewed as an unacceptable word. allegedly at ................... www.mindlesscrap.com/origins/more-a.htm

And I was with it right up until they cited that street name....
Uh-huh...Gropecuntelane with Ye Olde Syphilitic Sanitariume and Apothecarye down at the end of the street.
