For a while we were thinking of calling a girl child "Adelaide", but then we'd have "Addie and Maddie' as our two girl children... kinda odd, and the girl mightn't like it too much if we moved back to Adelaide.... but its a thought at least!
Keep 'em rolling.... there are some darn funny entries on this board! :-)

Maddie's a really cute name, love that. I really like Abbie for a girl too. And Olivia, which S. hates. Scottsy, do you guys have any names that are an absolute no-go? I think it was Dolly who mentioned that certain names had been ruined for her by horrible people she'd met in the past. I seem to have a few as well: Heather Peter Melissa (no offence to your lovely wife of course - despite us knowing two very sweet girls named Melissa, it's also the name of S's whoreface of an ex-girlfriend) Joel Kyle Daniela Lynn Gerald Holly Emily Donna Not that I'd name my kid most of those anyway, but it sucks when people ruin a name for you.

Yup - my old boss. Biggest prick in the entire world. An absolute horror to work for and just a genuinely nasty human being.
It's an unfortunate coincidence that that's also my father-in-law's name and S's middle name. Sigh.

I knew a Gerald in high school ... we all just called him "Jerry" ... wasn't a bad guy, not the swiftest boat in the water, but not a bad guy ...
I'd never name a kid Gerald, though. Dieter, sure, but Gerald? Wouldn't want him to go through life being associated with our nation's only un-elected President.

Yeah, we call my dad-in-law Gerry too, usually. But it kills me that someone I think the world of has the same name as one of the worst people I've ever met.
As for S... I only think of him that way when he's in trouble and I give him the mom-like "Steven Gerald!!"
