The only thing lacking is a “my favorites” the rest is all good. And Knight you don’t have to reread posts. If you look close your last page read # comes up purple.

really? Mine doesn't work that way. The pages I've clicked on come up purple, but if I've gone to others from there or read successively, they don't.

Oh, I didn't notice that. It really is hard to read though. The problem is clicking on that last page and reading the same last 5 posts before getting to the new one.
I don't want to bitch too much, but the number of posts to read thing was really great on the old board. I liked knowing the exact number of posts I had to read to catch up.

The "favorites" or subs was a definite plus, though like straw, I was down to a very few. You have to do it more or less "manually" here, but at least that has caused some cross-over posting that otherwise wouldn't have occured.
At least you can say "sophomoric" here with out it posting as "sop*ric." That really chafed my ass. Do you know how many words contain "homo" in them? I mean, they were really paranoid about that over there . You could say any of the vilest things imaginable, but you couldn't say "homo." Then they got so bad it would reject your entire post - perhaps a long, well thought out and labored over essay, because it contained the words "homo sapiens" or something. The stupidity being that all you had to do was insert some html in the middle of the offending word and it went through - which everybody soon picked up on.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the boards over there. If they get rid of all the old posts I probably won't go back. The whole board was kind of a music time capsule up to the current hottest thing. It was neat to go back and read people's opinions of 'new' albums that are now 3 to 5 years old.

Too right Knighttroll... alot of that old content was part of the reason I always came back to RS, to search through old reviews and postings about older albums to gather opinions, as well as the personal / friendships sort of end of things...
If they wipe out all of that they are wiping out several years of really fantastic and insightful dialogue, and that will be a shame and a waste of all the hard work we good posters put in there at the site... quite a shame, really, if they do erase it all!!!

"who needs that bullshit" - rockkid on RS.boards I hear ya rockkid. I prefer this forum over the old RS.forum, actually. But the thing is -- I've been such an "oldskooler" back there, that what I'm doing is continuing on all forums -- all chambers locked & loaded. That is -- so long as RS.com keeps our old profile information intact. If they've wiped all that -- I'll be strongly tempted to just say "Fuck em". I had a lot of information upkept on that ol' profile.

We'll ALL go back to lurk over the new boards and become the "Ghosts of RS.com Past" ...!Ö!...

I dunno who'd be more scared though, if they turn RS.com Community into a hive of Britney and Timberlake junkies...

Hee, hee! If they do away with the old usernames and profiles, we should all pop back in with some semblance of our old names with "ghost" in it somewhere, eg, "strat-0's_ghost" or something. That could be our statement. I plan full well on making some subversive posts about this place with the URL included, before bugging out. It's not nice to bite the hand that feeds you, as they have done. Anyhow, their track record has demonstrated the need for an RS Underground backup. Delete this, Wenner, you prick!
