Meh. You seem ok MDT, and passionate about your music. If someone is being a pain in the butt here i think it's easier to shake them off anyways.

Let me just add my voice to Scottsy's on that.
MDT, I don't know if you went to the RS boards much, if at all, nor which ones, nor what your user name might have been, but if you did hang out there much, you would understand why many of us here bristle at the apparent appearance of trolls. They brought the RS boards to their knees and caused their demise, because of the neglect, incompetence, and apathy on the part of the administrators. In short, the trolls ruined them (to their delight, no doubt).
If you were around last weekend and early this week, you got to see genuine trolls in action. It's all been cleaned up now, and preventive measures have been taken, but the stuff "837..." was posting is a prime example. I hope you got to see some of it if you haven't before. So please forgive some of us if we seem a little proactive in the matter.
Beyond the troll issue, we do also have some standards of behavior for appropriate posting - pretty loose and vague, I know, but nothing a little common sense, courtesy, and reason shouldn't dictate. Back in the days when message boards were a new thing, people used to lurk for awhile to pick up on the protocol of a paticular board before posting - that's still a good practice. But we don't go around booting people - 837 was actually the first (not counting when Knight was temporarily banned after posing as a troll as a "joke," and one other poster whom we came to a compromise with and who has since apparently left).
I hope that illuminates things for some of our newbies, and welcome.

Hahahahahahahahahaha, after being a member of rs.com for over 6 years you really start to notice everything that goes on. I always thought that rs was quite amusing to say the least. The bombers were pretty easy to ignore and actually quite humorous. I find it funny that it took rs that long to finally get all pissy about it. Seems to me that rs really wanted this stuff to happen to make it look like the boards are highly active.
When the boards return I will say let the laughter begin.
