I didnt know Knight was a troll to start with. Im blind to such things and just saw him for the fun to talk to guy he was. Not that my opinion matters.  I guess I'm not getting through. Strat-o didn't know Knight at all. What he saw was troll-like, bomber-like behavior and acted decisively. Against the behavior, not the person. When informed otherwise, he retracted decisively. |

Well then I dont feel so bad!!!
Really though, on RS I kinda stuck to two boards and that didnt see a whole lot of trolls or bombers, so Im almost in a way oblivious to the whole thing. My board never had one, I was quite proud of that!!!

Believe me, they were rampant. We lost a lot of good posters from frustration with all that foolishness. That's why a lot of us are in favor of "zero tolerance" here. A joke is a joke, but it's very hard to read intent in some of this stuff.
Again, I don't feel that any of this was done against a person, just against the behavior.

Mr Bear, I'm not getting into a debate - but I will answer your point on Strat himself not knowing Knight. Yes, that is true - but then Strat was, before these boards, just a regular poster, like the rest of us. No one can know everybody, and I guess had I been in Strat's position, even without the benefit of hindsight, I would hope that I would have consulted people close to the offender to try and get a fuller picture before taking such drastic action. That said, Strat did un-ban Knight once he did just that, so it's really a moot point. I guess I lean to the left with board politics  And now, I have to phone a loved one. Adios! |
