Oh, I didn't realise it was Shane. he keeps staring at me with that eye. Make it stop or I'll tell riley & then there will trouble for everyone. I wonder if Shin's turban is designer? I think Chanel do turbans now. Rit - my association with hot latinas is understandable on the one hand, as I'm latin, yet perplexing on the other, as I'm not hot...chalk it up there with the other great mysteries, like Bermuda triangle & Atlantis. hi Trace. Oh no! I've accidently spilled mango juice all over you. And Riley stole all the mops. Oh dear

lol Rit...I wear contacts. I'm blind as a damn bat.
I don't like Kant & I don't like Descartes. I don't mix well with philosophy b/c I'm too much of a science student.
I do like Plato though.

Rit: I like Spinoza the most of any philospher i've read, i've browsed more than i've delved right into other philosophers. Been meaning to check out Hegel, but don't know if I will or not.
You should look up some advaita vedanta stuff, and maybe some buddhism, sufism, hindu mysticism, and then Taoism, and after you've absorbed those, burn em all.

that's intersting Shane, i knew a girl who was a freaking Spinoza devotee, and she was most.. umm.. intense.
Hegel is tarred for me, since Kierkegaard took such offence against him.. and since i happen to like Kierkegaard so much. I'l definitely look into those texts you suggested.
Layla, Descartes was a boob. But Plato was on to something for sure.

i spent a lot of time with that Spinoza girl... and she eventually scared me. But she was a good hearted person, as all Spinozites are ;D

Well, look at that, there seems to be mango juice all over me, and only a Colombian Aussie around to lick it off. I guess that'll do.
Layla, my lovely, when are you off to Paris? Go find that Paradis bitch and steal her away from Johnny for me. You and Res can fight over him, I'll comfort her broken heart.
The only philosopher worth reading is Heidegger. Heretics.

I should add i'm getting rid of most or many of my "spiritual" texts, I think, I don't think I can explain why.
A donkey with a load of holy books is still a donkey.
I'm very appreciative of a lot of the changes that have occured in my life because a lot of the religious/spiritual texts i've read.
Beyond our ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase 'each other' doesn't make sense any more.
