I've actually read half of Jackie's "Rock Star". It was dreadful. I read the whole thing. The second half didn't get any better.

And then another internet buddy of mine in Brazil told me last night that he got into a horrible car accident. He's OK, but he ran over a 17-year-old kid who subsequently died. He's not in any kind of legal trouble because he wasn't at fault, and he luckily had car insurance, but he's still traumatized.
I don't know what's going on with me lately. I have zero emotion about anything that ever happens to me in my own personal life. But when horrible things happen to other people I get all emotional about it.

I read the whole thing. The second half didn't get any better. Wasn't it awful? The worst thing about it was all the fake rock lyrics that were interspersed throughout the book. I think even Wacko's lyrics were superior to Jackie Collins'.

Chrisfan, you mentioned the two unappealing, boring blondes that wound up in the finale for The Bachelor this season.
What did you think about Trish, the supposedly evil bachelorette?

My supervisor called a co-worker who was late into his office and he's yelling at her behind closed doors.
My question is, why bother closing the door? We all can hear everything anyway.

I thought she was trash, has little regard for other people, too much regard for herself, and I didn't like her. As a reality TV character? I thought she was the best thing that has ever happened to that show.

I thought she was the best thing that has ever happened to that show. I was bothered by the blatant double-standard by all of the bitchy bachelorettes when it came to Trish. They were constantly raking her over the coals for her supposed promiscuity, while simulaneously panting after the bachelor, who also admitted to being promiscuous. Yeah I wasn't crazy about Trish as a person, but I thought all of the cattiness she brought out in all the other women was just as bad. This was definitely the worst crop of broads I've ever seen on that show.

Another thing I miss about the RS board is how it would take you immediately back to where you left off on a board the last time you visited. This board doesn't seem to have that same feature. I have to hunt down the place where I left off...unless I'm doing something wrong.

This was definitely the worst crop of broads I've ever seen on that show. But Trish's promiscuity went even beyond Jesse's (that we know of at least). I'm not even sure she would have stopped at farm animals! I can't say that I was hoping for either woman to be chosen. IMO, Mandy Jaye was the only close-to-normal one of the bunch ... and all her moles bugged me. But then again, I also thought that Jesse had about zero appeal, and once someone pointed out how big his ears were to me, it was all over. The man should have at least gotten some spray tanning work done before going on the show!

I got the feeling that Jesse was much more of a player than he let on. He alluded a few times to "waking up next to a total stranger," but seeing as he's a friggin' NFL quarterback, I'm sure he didn't let on that it was happening every day in every town he played in.

But when horrible things happen to other people I get all emotional about it. Goin, I am sorry to hear your friends are having trouble. I totally understand where you are coming from. I do the same thing. In my case... it seems that I feel strong enough to handle my own problems, but when it comes to other people... I feel helpless because I can't really do anything to make them feel better. I have always been like that. It is a curse. If I see anyone who looks sad... it brings me down. When all the firing went down here... It stressed me out sooooo much. I wasn't sure if it was even going to be me... but I felt so bad for my friends.
