Jenny Lewis is soooo cute. But am I totally missing it with Meg White? I just don't see the attraction, unfortunately. It's about time for some Britta Phillips. May be second only to Neko in the way of my rock star girl crushes... and I don't even like blondes.

...plleeeeease let this work...Nope. It didn't. Try this link then. www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1363/Mptv/1363/7201_0003.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Phillips,%20Michelle%20(I) There's a wonderful Mamas & Papas bio/documentary that PBS here showed maybe a½ year ago. Much of it lip-synched, but a LOT was real concert/TV studio singing and harmonizing...and hard to believe that SUCH a beautiful VOICE could also come from such a wispy and equally beautiful package. And that band was at the CENTER of so much of Northern AND Southern California rock (and folk obviously) of the mid to late 60s...people were simply drawn to them. The Springfield, the Byrds, you name them...

The Springfield, the Byrds, you name them... I don't think I saw that specific documentary, RocDoc, but I did see another really good one last year sometime... actually, I thought that one was on PBS too, so maybe it WAS the same one. If so, it was excellent. I was a big, big fan of theirs (I've sort of taken a different direction in my listening as of late, but they're always well-represented in my music collection)... and Michelle was just SO beautiful and ethereal, with SUCH a voice. Love that first photo of her.

The first I'd ever heard Jenny Lewis was last week on a free download, but between liking the song and finding her absolutely enchanting I may have to check out her band as well.
