That doesn't make her Canadian. She wasn't in Virginia long, but she was mostly raised in Washington state. She was only in Canada for a few years on a student visa. Listen to half the songs on Furnace Room Lullaby--she obviously thinks of herself as being from Tacoma.

I know she's not Canadian - she's just hotter than the two Canadians we were talking about.
(though I guess my next sentence - about the hottest Canadian - would make it seem that I thought that. Which I don't. Though she should be, cuz she's too cool to be anything but Canadian. But she's not.)
I DO think she embraces Canada as home as much as she does Tacoma though. Just look at Canadian Amp - no one who doesn't embrace this place as their own at least a little bit would cover Thrush Hermit and Sook-Yin Lee and Lisa Marr. And the fact that she played in Maow and Cub? Ultra-cool.
Then again, I sorta think of luke as being Canadian too, so go figure.

Historically speaking, we're just Canadians sentenced to the swamp, with spicier food and warmer weather.
Washington...Canada...hell, I wouldn't even draw a line if it didn't mean losing dibs on grunge and Modest Mouse.
