 Meet Floppy! I'm pretty sure he's a creek chub. Saturday afternoon we were sitting out on the deck, and I noticed something thrashing around in the creek shoals. Floppy had gotten himself stranded in the shallows and was in a bad way. Now he lives in an aquarium in my den. He seems pretty happy. I need to get a companion for him, though. Wouldn't want him to get too lonely. Say hello, Floppy!  |

See? Hunger always rears its nasty head...and although they're a pain in the ass cos there's a shitload of bones to pick out, chubs, smoked are pretty doggoned tasty...sayeth the unrepentant omnivore.

I didn't even know chub was edible! No such fate awaits Floppy, though! The biggest I've seen in there is about 6 inches anyway, so I guess they're all pretty safe on that score. Until the "giant upheaval" and then I'll be down there with a fly rod.
