I figure this kind of fits in the spirit of random top 10 lists...
This is inspired by punkchick suggesting that I post my entire cd collection on here. Actually, a whole bunch of this did this on the old rs.com boards (me, drum, ueb, howe, rocky, dwazee, tunes, and some others too...) I don't know if I'm going to do that all over again, though maybe if others start doing it I'll begin again. But there's no need to limit this just to cd/record collections - lots of us are just collector-geeks in general! So I figured here people could share their collections of whatever - movies, cds, books, posters, shoes (describe 'em all!), anything you collect obessively.
I'll begin with a very short collection. My movie collection is quite small. It includes...
On VHS
Blade Runner Heathers Lost Boys The French Connection Rosemary's Baby The Exorcist The Decline of Western Civilization Rude Boy Blood Simple The Shining One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
On DVD
Chinatown Midnight Cowboy 12 Monkeys The Birds The Last Picture Show Mildred Pierce Mulholland Drive The Wages of Fear Night of the Hunter
Recorded onto VHS from DVD (gasp!)
Bonnie and Clyde Halloween Some Like It Hot Y Tu Mama Tambien Citizen Kane Wild Strawberries The Third Man
...I think that's it. Unfortuantey, this was all from memory, because my roommate is moving out tomorrow and there are about seventeen thousands boxes and pieces of furniture piled up in front of the living room shelves, so I couldn't actually go and look at my movie collection to confirm...
NP: Swans - Greed/Holy Money (song: Greed)

Jazz CDs collection(and a poor one at that ...)
What the hell are you talking about Phil? Looks pretty impressive to me! And to be honest, Jazz is a music form that I've never been able to get a handle on. I guess I was never really able to understand it.
This board could be fun. If I get brave enough, perhaps I'll post my movie and CD collections (pretty pedestrian tho' really)!

Oh, man. I don't think I can post my entire CD collection again especially since I think it's about 300 cds larger. And it's still not in alphabetical order. Anyway, I can post my DVD collection though....
DVD sets for television series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 6 Angel Season 1 Angel Season 2 Angel Season 3 Twin Peaks
Movies (non-James Bond) Heathers Dangerous Liaisons The Neverending Story Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone The Lost Boys Sleeping Beauty Clue Tom Jones --> my mom bought this for me and I still don't understand why Pirates of the Caribbean Throughly Modern Millie Tomb Raider Tomb Raider: the Cradle of Life Say Anything
DVDs (James Bond related): Dr. No Goldfinger The Man with the Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Never Say Never Again Licence to Kill GoldenEye Tomorrow Never Dies
DVDs - Music Related The Cure Trilogy Tori Amos Welcome to Sunny Florida
...The sad thing is that I haven't actually watched the majority of my DVDs because I don't have a DVD player for my television set yet. There just seems something a little wrong about watching a James Bond movie on a computer screen. So, a "real" DVD player is yet another purchase for me this summer.

Yeah, posting every piece of recorded music in my possession involved a certain kind of mania the first time around; don’t know if I could find the right vibe again. And my collection has grown by... actually, I don’t even want to think what my collection has grown by! Great idea for a board though. Here’s a collection that’s a little easier for me to tabulate, my R.E.M. fanclub Christmas singles collection. Most of these are 45 r.p.m. vinyl singles. 1988 – Parade of Wooden Soldiers b/w See No Evil 1989 – Good King Wenceslas b/w Academy Fight Song 1990 – Ghost Reindeer in the Sky b/w Summertime 1991 – Baby Baby b/w Christmas Griping 1992 – Where’s Captain Kirk? b/w Toyland 1993 – Silver Bells b/w Christmas Time is Here 1994 – Sex Bomb b/w Christmas in Tunisia 1995 – Wicked Game b/w Java 1996 – Only in America b/w I Will Survive 1997 – Live for Today (R.E.M.) b/w Happy When I’m Crying (Pearl Jam) 1998 – E-Bow the Letter (R.E.M. w/ T. Yorke) and Lucky (Radiohead w/ M. Stipe) Live at the Tibetan Freedom Concert (video tape) 1999 – Country Feedback & Ambulance Blues – R.E.M. w/ Neil Young live at the Bridge School Benefit (CD single) 2000 – Christmas Time (Is Here Again) b/w Hastings and Main & Take Seven 2001 – Let Me In and Find the River (live) + Find the River video (CD single) 2002 – No Matter What & Jesus Christ (CD single) 2003 – Country Feedback & It’s the End of the World (and I Feel Fine) – R.E.M. w/ Wilco live at Red Rocks (CD single)

Great collections, people! I'm envious!
Mary, I was a little surprised to see Wages of Fear in your DVD collection. I seem to have a lucky habit of accidentally stumbling onto what are apparently cult classics like this one. I first chanced upon this obscure story in its remade version - the excellent film, The Sorcerer, with Roy Schieder. It is rivetting. Years later I surfed into an old black and white movie, and after a few minutes I said, "wait a minute - I've seen this story before..." What a story of desperate men in a desperate situation.
I similarly happened across House of Cards. The first time I saw this gem I missed some of the early part, and so was completely taken in by the con all the way up to the bar scene, which made it all the more enjoyable. With the early foreshadowing, most people catch on before that.

Shane's Comic Books. The Amazing Spiderman. Special 25th Anniversary Issue 300. Don't know how much any of those 3 are worth, i figure they may be my most valuable. ..... Issue 37 of What If.. The Beast and The Thing Continued to Mutate. (plus if What If Silver Surfer Lost The Power Cosmic?) The Punisher 63#. He shoots up some criminals in some warehouse or something this one..then again that explains many Punisher comics. Great collections everyone!
I think I'll post my CD collection at the end of the summer. Mine is pitifully small, but hopefully between now and late August, I'll have acquired quite a few albums to make my collection a little more complete. I have some money now, so next week I'll finally be able to purchase that '70s punk rock box set Ken raved about on the Latest Music Purchases board. ;D

Sorry to respond so belatedly to this, strat-o, but I only just noticed this post! I've actually never seen the remake, Sorcerer, but I seem to recall (correct me if I'm wrong) that it was actually directed by William Friedkin, of French Connection and Exorcist fame?? If so, that is certainly very intriguing! But in any case, yeah, I actually own The Wages of Fear because I bought it last August for my boyfriend at the time while I was in boston—he had long raved and raved about how brilliant it was and how he would watch it all the time if he owned it—and, in one of those funny twists of fate, all kinds of crazy crappy shit had happened while I'd been away and he basically broke up with me as soon as I returned to california. So I was rather too bitter to give the movie to him after all, and just kept it in my own collection! In any case, asshole or not, he sure knew what he was talking about when it came to that movie—it really sets the bar insanely high for intelligent, philosophical action movies. It's fucking scary as shit, totally thrilling, but also really poignant and almost existential in its view of life and misery. I can't believe more people haven't heard of this film. I'm really glad you have!! Cheers, M
