A typical Phil day in the semi-rural place we got ...
- 06h00 : Grunt a "Have a nice Day" to the Better-half who's getting up to go to work in Québec city ...
- 07h15 : Get up/shower ...
- 07h30 : Say hello to Second Son who's an early riser (still !!) Make coffee/fire up the PC/feed cat ...
- 07h45 : Make lunch for the boys/Go wake up Eldest Son who's always grumpy when he wakes up. (Don't know where that comes from ...!Ö!...)
- 08h00 : Check out messages and make sure the boys are all set for school
- 08h30 : (kids leave for school) Ckeck European News on TV ... Dispair at the world we live in right now ...
- 09h00 : (depending on the weather ...) Read a script or School Board related material Tend the garden/flowers/"lawn" ... Prepare food - make all kind of preserves
- 12h00 : Lunch time. Now that Second Son is in High School too, for the first time in 8 years, there is no one lunching with me ... Skip lunch, grap an apple instead !
- 13h00 : take the bike and go grocery shopping
- 14h00 : Work around the house or on a script (if any) or school board/Parents Commitee related projects
- 16h00 : Kids come back from school Check homeworks/prepare supper/check messages
-17h00 : Have a drink with Better-Half
18h00 : Supper
19h00 : Get ready for a school/School Board/Parents Commitee reunion (one or two each week) Otherwise play Scrabble with B-H, watch a little TV, read a book ...
21h00 : Get the boys upstair
21h30 : Get on the Net ...
22h30 : Kiss B-H good night ...
23h30 : Bedtime for Phil ...

mornings: wake up, maybe go to school or work. go for a walk near the local river (though it seems more like a creek to me) while playing an album or two. go to class if i have any.
afternoons: sit around, browse the internet. maybe go out with the friend i've known for years. get depressed. get non-depressed. sometimes go to work (usually the weekend or a latter weekday).
early-to-late nights: browse the internet, maybe go to the beach (though, since summer's over...) or bowl. talk some politics, eat, listen to local sports talk radio, play some games. go to class if it's thursday. turn on the tv and flip through channels, looking for something decent. SLEEP.
kind of a boring life, but since i'm getting into school again, i expect things to pick up once i get situated.

In the summer, I don't really have a schedule. Probably because I'm up all night and I sleep half the day away. But when I'm back in school, my schedule will probably go something like this: 9 AM-12 PM (depending on when I have class): Wake up, eat breakfast, get dressed If I have class right away (I will on Mondays and Wednesdays this semester), then I'm off to class. Otherwise, I just sit on the computer and listen to music until I have to go to class. 2 PM-5 PM (except on Tuesday, when I have two classes back to back in the late afternoon/early evening): Grab a snack, spend more time on the internet, attempt to get some homework done (emphasis on the word "attempt"). 5 PM-7 PM: Dinner. No, it doesn't last two hours, I just usually have dinner somewhere around that time. 7 PM-11 PM: Club activity/meeting, hang out with my roommates/friends, or if something is due the next day, then it's homework night. 11 PM-12:30 AM: Shower 12:30 AM-Whenever: Try to get more homework done, or spend even more time on the internet, or a combination of both. When I'm finally tired, I go to sleep. That reminds me, here is my actual class schedule for the Fall semester: Mondays CPR and First Aid: 10 AM-11:15 AM Media Issues and Ethics: 12:45 PM-3:15 PM Tuesdays Music in Our Time: 3:30 PM-6 PM American Government: 6:30 PM-9 PM Wednesdays Music in the Theatre: 10:30 AM-1 PM No class on Thursdays ;D Fridays Business of Film: 2 PM-4:30 PM

I'll have a go:
07:30- waking up. If my shift starts at 09:00 anyway, (I ciould also have the nightshift from 12:00 to 21:00), otherwise I sneak in another half an hour.
07:30-09:00- Coffee, showering, making sandwiches to take to work, downloading the papers off the Internet (hence why I am on right now, I have a second screen open for Castaways).
09:00- 18:00- Take the bike to my work, which is about 2 Ks away from where I live. I start off with checking my messages, then I have a ton of orders to do, so I start off with the most important ones. Do a storewalk first and write up what needs to be done- I've got 5 staff to manage. Making sure all sections are being filled/maintained/merchandised.
The phone never stops ringing so a lot of enquiries to do as well as serving people on the floor. In busy days like now it sometimes means running around like a headless chook because you're serving three people at the same time.
A lunchbreak is non-existent, as I just eat while I work.
This store is incredibly busy and because the computer at times is very slow, orders are taking a long time to finalize. We also got a direct internetconnection with out head office in Melbourne and every direction they send out (and that is a lot!) mus be actioned asap. Usually end up getting home much later than scheduled, because I have to do invoicing and budgeting at every end of my shift and, depending on how much stock we get in, it could take well over an hour.
If it's very late and I'm tired and don't feel like cooking- get some Subway or Hungry Jack's.
19:00- watch the news, relax, have a good cup of evening coffee after dinner, dishes and, depending on the night, go out, play volleyball or watch a DVD or listen to music, log on to this site while playing music and sending emails.....
Bedtime, usually, is around midnight.
Things I need to do but can't because of time restraints: * Working out on a regular basis (I really want to go swimming in the morning as a workout) * Holidaying! * Spend more time cooking and preparing meals * Going out more- the best gigs are in Sydney but getting down there is a hike of you don't have a car and there's only one train every two hours going up here at night....

Well, contrary to your wishes Mary, I'm going to say something, although admittedly, not much. I'm very sorry to hear of your news, I sincerely mean that. Beyond that, I don't know what to say without entering the realm of the cliche. I consider you a friend, and I'm sorry.

i dunno about dave, but i have one of martin's solo eps and i think it's some pretty decent stuff.
madam punk, i'm like that with h.w. as well. i'm always like "i gotta do it, i gotta do it!!!", but then... ... well, that's the story of my high school career, which almost resulted in me dropping out of school. that was not just another moment of my life, but another life in general, i'd say...

Er I must apologize to Phil and stratman for making their posts seem out-of-thin-air. Once again I posted something and then deleted it - I really need to stop doing that! Someone always catches what I've posted before I delete it.
So since you both know anyway.... so everyone else has some clue what's going on, I found out today that my ex-boyfriend died (god, the word "died" is horrifying to type - it's so....final...."got cancer" or "was in an accident", somehow, I could type that... but DIED??) I was completely shocked (and still am, really) although it's not exactly a surprise given he'd been totally self-destructive for the past few years. I feel like so much of my identity formed through him, so it's really hard to imagine I'm never ever ever going to talk to him again. Even to this day I have these weird, dull, domestic dreams where I'm like middle-aged and living in suburbia with him. I could never shake this guy. I guess he took care of that now.
I felt like I couldn't deal with other human beings in my presence after hearing that, so I asked my boyfriend not to come over (to his infinite credit he was understanding about it), but now the apartment just feels sooooooooooo resoundingly empty. (can something empty resound??) I tried to watch tv and failed. So then I read Montaigne's famous essay on death, and then read two of the essays in this recent philosophy compendium on loss and melancholy. But I don't think it will really set in until tomorrow morning, it still felt like an abstract exercise. This is a weird comparison but I remember on 9/11, during that day I just couldn't get my head around what had happened, but I remember waking up the next morning and having this feeling in my stomach, this knot, and then I really understood what had happened. So I expect the same thing tomorrow.
Anyway sorry for the rambling and please no one feel obligated to say anything, just carry on with the regular conversations. Just wanted to be open about what happened, cause, well, pardon the cheese and all, but you all have come to feel like friends!!
