Top Ten John Lennon Beatles Songs 10. Help! (Help!) 9. Revolution (Past Masters II) 8. Dear Prudence (White Album) 7. Happiness is a Warm Gun (White Album) 6. I’m the Walrus (Magical Mystery Tour) 5. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) - Rubber Soul - 4. Don't Let Me Down (Past Masters II) 3. Across the Universe (Past Masters II) 2. Strawberry Fields Forever (Magical Mystery Tour) 1. In My Life (Rubber Soul) Phil -- just saw this. EXCELLENT LIST! In terms of John's own songs, I don't know if I'd change a thing on here ... maybe the order a spot or two (Across the Universe might move up to #2, for example), but that's a hard one to argue with. Now if we're talking 'bout songs John SANG rather than WROTE, well, my list would have to find room for both Money and Twist and Shout, two of the greatest covers in rock. But damn, I would've sworn I'd posted this list myself if it didn't have your by-line on it ... have you been stealing my thoughts from across the border?

I can't believe none of you mentioned two of the Beatles' finest. "A Day In The Life" (John, with a little help from Paul) and "Eleanor Rigby" (Paul).

"A Day in the Life" falls into the true Lennon/McCartney Beatles songs... Eleanor Rigby is a great tune ! Probably will end up on RocDoc list ...

Macca's top songs are a lot harder to choose ... here are my picks:
1. Let It Be 2. For No One 3. Hey Jude 4. Yesterday 5. Penny Lane 6. Back in the U.S.S.R. 7. Oh! Darling 8. Golden Slumbers/the End 9. Eleanor Rigby 10. Got to Get You Into My Life
Or something like that ... it really is hard to pick just ten from Sir Paul.

yeah Ken, I though of literally a dozen songs right off the top omitted from john/paul list such as: I should have Known Better, Ticket to Ride, Any Time At all, If I Fell, I'll Cry Instead, Mean Mr. Mustard, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Got to Get you Into My Life, Lovely Rita, Tomorrow Never Knows, Wait, etc etc....
...just too many to select from!!!

I always though 'I've Just Seen A Face' is a John Lennon effort at being a Dylan wannabe...but I could be wrong.
Eleanor Rigby would be on that list, yeah, if I had a 'Paul' list.
Savoy Truffle too...wait...whose was Savoy Truffle?

Savoy Truffle too...wait...whose was Savoy Truffle? You're thinking of You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, which John admitted was a blatent Dylan rip-off. I've Just Seen a Face is a charming slice of folk-rock pop from Mr. McCartney.
