Ken, it will probably be tonight before I can compile my list. Please don't start without me!

Just as a reminder, I said the lists would be due NEXT Friday. I'm not gonna have time this weekend ... hell, I may not have time next weekend either. If you all want me to get started scoring, I can try to do that tomorrow or Sunday. Truthfully, I'm not even done with my own list, so I'm hardly going to call in ballots early.

Oh - I thought it was THIS Friday! Probably quite a few others have not submitted theirs yet, too.

The Beatles The Rolling Stones Pink Floyd The Who The Jimi Hendrix Experience (C’mon, ‘The Experience’ was 2 Brit Dudes; same as I put the 3-American Band Of Gypsys lineup to ‘qualify’ Jimi for the Yank list; Weeping was right in that his ‘break’ definitely came in England and not here) Taste/Rory Gallagher UFO Thin Lizzy Jethro Tull Led Zeppelin Mott The Hoople/Ian Hunter-Mick Ronson Band Fairport Convention (Tam-Lin does NOT rock, Phil?) Deep Purple The Cream (tho the 'Derek' incarnation for Clapton was even better) U2
Just missed: David Bowie & The Spiders From Mars, Queen, Def Leppard (yeah, SO?), Black Sabbath…

oh hell, I didn't even think of including David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars as I was so fixated on thinking of Bowie as purely as a solo artist........but RN is right, that was truly a "band" ........

OK, Ken. I'm a little late on this but since you said that The Jimi Hendrix Experience doesn't count, I moved everybody up a notch and put The Waterboys at the end of my list. YEAH Waterboys!!!

Yeah, I guess if The Experience has gotta be bounced, push mine along as well...much as I feel that Jimi is eeeasily one worth inclusion for the top 10 in both countries of origin... Thinking aloud...where would Derek & The Dominos fit in then?
Clapton had that American band and he also had the all-Brit Cream....but does D&TD then have to get (pretty much) arbitrarily bounced if Cream necessarily placed in the Brit category?

That'll be undoubtedly the next list- all those conjointed bands!
Which reminds me- are Siouxsie and the Banshees and Echo and the Bunnymen 'safe'?

So, this is the last day for lists, right?

Yep, today's the last day for lists ... I'm gonna start putting things together later on today, so it's time to get those last minute changes in. And speaking of which, I need to post my own final order ...

Ken, I was thinking of revising my list and add "david bowie and the spiders from mars' but, in my estimation, Bowie is truly a single artist who had just had wonderful back-up bands.....

My tentative list is at home (I'm at work) so I won't be able to get it in until this evening.

I know Ken and many others will be shocked, shocked at my pick for Number 1.
1. The Who 2. The Rolling Stones 3. The Beatles 4. Led Zeppelin 5. Pink Floyd 6. U2 7. The Kinks 8. Cream 9. Deep Purple 10. Faces 11. Dire Straits 12. Black Sabbath 13. Mott the Hoople 14. Yes 15. The Clash
...Looking my list over, I note that you can draw some lines connecting the Stones, Faces, and Mott. Also Bad Co., but they didn't make the cut. Then you could draw a dotted line between the top and bottom picks, the Who and the Clash. Know whuta mean? Ken, I'll bet you do!
