To be honest, their is far too much good music out of this decade to even list a top 10 of anything. Exactly

pcook-I love the Kinks. I even checked out the 80s stuff...I disagree with you regarding Arthur though--What about Something Else and Village Green? Finding the The KINKS KRONIKLES on vinyl when I was 13 (child of the 80s/early 90s) was a revelation. I may be wrong and after all its all a matter of taste but to me Arthur didn't hit me the same way Something Else and Village Green did. I will listen to it again.Wait a minute-you are the Kinks expert here. WHAT AM I MISSING??? Don't know.... I like Arthur for many different reasons. For one, the lyrics are some of R. Davies best. I guess I kinda like anti-authority stuff, and the lyrics to songs like "yes sir, no sir", and "brainwashed" really strike me. Also the music is just fantastic. "Victoria" may be one of the best album openers of all time IMO. The jam on "Australia" is like nothing the Kinks had ever done, or did since, and where to even begin w/ "Mr. Churchill Says"?? That song is all over the place and IMHO one of the absolute best the Kinks have ever done. If you have the remastered CD, there are also some real gems w/ the bonus tracks, including "Plastic Man" and Dave's "Mindless Child of Motherhood." Oh, I didn't even mention the brass!!! What can I say, I'm a sucker for horns, power chords, and cymbals, and Arthur really delivers for me. It's Rays most complete and best koncept album. Give it another listen, you won't be disappointed
