I have a feeling that, based on what I've seen posted around here, No Code is gonna run away with this one. Ten gets my vote. It's in my top 20 favorites of all time. More passion is the reason.

Let me be the first to cast my vote for No Code, which will (I hope) eventually be the winner of this particular contest.

No Code got my vote.
I like the non-angry, in their early 30's, learned a lot from Neil Young (Mirror Ball came out a year before No Code), reflective, heavy percussion album. Plus I think Vedder's lyrics are better (Off He Goes, Present Tense, Sometimes, Hail Hail), and the other guys grew tremendously as musicians. Oh and last but no least, Jack Irons was my favorite drummer w/ Pearl Jam.

Yield is good as well b/c IMO sums up PJ's career up to that point perfectly. It has a big, sometimes arena sound of Ten, it is sometimes raw and loose like Vs., it's sometimes angry, bitter, and dark like Vitalogy, and it's a bit somber and reflective like No Code.

I was torn between the two, but Yield got my vote today because of its consistency, even though No Code has 3 songs better than anyting else they've done, imo.
Dammit, now I wish I'd voted for No Code. Rocky brainwashed me.

I know it's strange that I have such a good memory, but didn't luke once say that "Immortality" was PJ's best song and you agreed, JLLM? Maybe you forgot that one. Anyway, what are those 3 songs on No Code? Lemme take a guess: "Present Tense", "Off He Goes", and.......well, I've no idea what the last one would be. Those are my 2 faves on NC and after that I would pick "Hail, Hail" and "Smile". Here's my top 5:
1. Indifference(by a million miles) 2. Black 3. Present Tense 4. Jeremy 5. Oceans

Phil- I put "Off He Goes" on your mix I sent you! Pop it in again and realize that you should have voted for No Code...
And Melon, JLLM did indeed agree with me there. Think his memory's just off a bit.

Man, this is a no brainer! "No Code" is by far their best record. I actually listen to that one and "Vitology" much more than I do any other thing they have done.
