Yep, that's the cover! I was wrong about the knives, but the rest of it is pretty much as I remember.

Off topic, but I didn't want to start a thread for this question.... Does anyone know if there will be any remastered reissues of the Beatles catalog? Some of the albums (at least the ones I have) sound good, but have crappy packaging (Abbey, Rubber, Revolver); and the White album just sounds awful in my book....There is no low-end; was it meant to sound that way, or is this just bad mixing/mastering? My copy of Rubber Soul sounds way better (crisper, warmer, and more low-end) than my copy of the White album. No, the only remastered Beatles available is this box set... Which is the first four Capital albums. The US versions, not the first four album that everyone else thinks of. Yes that is very annoying, however I do understand that the remastering is fantasic and that alone makes it worth picking up.

I would imagine that the entire Beatles catalogue still sells way too well for them to bother remastering it.

I thought the folklore was that the original cover had John and Yoko nude on it, which was rejected, hence the plain "white" cover.

Nope !! The one you describe is the cover of the first John & Yoko solo album titled "Unfinished Music No. 1 : Two Virgin" ... An absolute dreadful disaster !! Here it is in all its naked splendor !!

"Long, Long, Long" is the best song on the White Album and furthermore the best Beatles song ever. Of course, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is a close 2nd.

I don't know if there's a technical term for it but in that sentence...no matter how you rearrange the words it never makes a true statement.

I don't agree but I'm much closer to agreeing with it than I am to disagreeing with it. I think Melon and I are the only two people here who feel that way.

"Long Long Long" eh? I've never heard anyone say that was their favorite, interesting choice...."Helter Skelter" gets my vote for best song on the album.
