"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" has been scientifically proven to be the best song on The Beatles.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" has been scientifically proven to be the best song on The Beatles. Well said Mr Holzman I'm curious actually, do you have a clear standout favourite on London Calling? I know it's tough to choose just one considering that LC is THE BEST ALBUM EVER from the ONLY BAND THAT MATTERED ;D

*...steps around the Clash convo as though it was shit lying on the sidewalk...*
Savoy Truffle for probably 75% of my life...otherwise it's impossibleimpossibleimpossible to classify a White Album 'favorite' for the rest...and I treat that musique concrete bullshit as though it's that sound that the record useta make when it got to the end of the grooves and you didn't have a record changer...
...clickclick...clickclick...clickclick...clickclick...

Nobody mentioning "The Card Cheat" so far is unaccepatable.

George would be proud, he was an avid ukulele player.

Favorite song on London Calling ... it is nearly impossible for me to choose one track from the greatest rock record ever recorded. "Clampdown," however, is the one track that I would pick if forced. But really, it's more like "first among equals," with the rest of that group consisting of "Spanish Bombs," "Lost in the Supermarket," "Death or Glory," "Rudy Can't Fail," "The Card Cheat," "Hateful," "Train in Vain" (overplayed or not, it's still a great song!), and of course the immortal title track. "The Right Profile" just misses out, as does "Koka Kola," ... or maybe they belong in that group as well.
It would be easier for me to just say that I think "Lover's Rock" and "Four Horsemen" are the weakest track on the record (though I love both of 'em), and that if pressed to pick a favorite, it would be "Clampdown" with "London Calling" and "Spanish Bombs" right behind it.
Some other favorite songs from Clash albums ...
The Clash (UK) ... "White Riot," "Police and Thieves" Give 'em Enough Rope ... "All the Young Punks," "Safe European Home," "Tommy Gun," "Stay Free" The Clash (US) ... "White Man (in Hammersmith Palais)," "Complete Control," "I Fought the Law" + faves from the UK release Black Market Clash ... "Armagideon Time," "Pressure Drop" Sandinista! ... oh god ... almost harder than London Calling ... "The Magnificent Seven," "Something About England," "Police On My Back," "Somebody Got Murdered," "The Call Up," "Charlie Don't Surf" ... too fucking hard ... Combat Rock ... "Straight to Hell" From Here to Eternity ... "Complete Control," "Capital Radio," "Armagideon Time" Best Clash Song Never Released on a Proper Album ... "Gates of the West" (anyone who says they don't like the Clash needs to hear this)
