I'm horrified! December 9th 1977 UK: Mull of Kintyre/Girls School - Wings. Ewww. US: You light up my life - Debbie Boone wtf? Can anyone enlighten me on who the bejeezus Debbie Boone is? Sounds like syrupy guff anyway. If you have been spared ever hearing "You Light Up My Life" consider yourself forever blessed..... This is another case where I have happened to hear it again just in the past week....I cringed, the hair on the back of my neck stood up, I went outside through the neighborhood in search of puppies to kick.....just about that bad. Debbie was the daughter of ultraconservative crooner Pat Boone and as bland as melba toast dipped in skim milk. She is the reason that people like Marilyn Manson HAVE to exist so that to balance out the equation.....

UK: Knock Three Times by Dawn (don't think I've heard it) US: Brown Sugar - The Rolling Stones (Yeah!) 'Theme' songs: UK: Sealed With A Kiss by Jason Donovan (Yikes! I'll take any disco song over this one) US: Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler (Holy fuuuuuuck!!! NOOOO!! ) 21st songs: UK: Please Don't Go / Game Boy by KWS (another wretched song, it's a disco-ballad cover too! Remember KC's original?) US: Jump by Kris Kross My list is so not cool. Oh well, at least I have a Stones tune to sorta balance out the Bette Midler thing. ;D

I actually like 3 of stratman's songs. 2 of them I don't know... and the Shakin' Stevens one blows. That's a pretty cool list... considering everyone else's list.
If anyone has the right to complain here (apart from myself) it's Scottsy. Peter Andre? Mariah? Macarena? You can't get any lower than that. Not bad birth songs though.
So Scottsy, were you singing this tune at your 21st party?
"What's your flava? Tell me what's your flava."
;D

KoolKat, you never heard "Knock Three Times" by the mainstream pop-schmaltz group that gave us "Tie a Yellow Ribbon"?
Maybe this will help:
Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me Twice on the pipes [tink, tink] if the answer is no [knock, knock, knock] Means you'll meet me in the hallway Twice on the pipes [tink, tink] means you ain't gonna showww

I think that Marilyn Manson only exists because the world needs someone to laugh at.

"Stay" is actually a great song. Shakespear's Sister was formed by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame. One of the chicks in SS was actually his then wife... not sure about her name, the one that used to be in Bananarama! You've probably heard it and just can't remember it. The other woman who sings the chorus has an amazing voice.
Strat-o, I went over to amazon.com to hear the sound samples and although "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" sounds familiar, I can't say the same thing about "Knock 3 Times". I may have heard it many, many years ago but I think I've blocked it out. ;D
