Yeah, Melon...I LOVE the 77's. I just wish I still had their first two albums, Ping Pong Over the Abyss and All Fall Down. Now those are some high quality recordings that I remember held their own with all the great Daniel Amos stuff I was listening to at the time. I still have a couple of 77's CDs, A Golden Field of Radioactive Crows and Late, and I like 'em alright, but they don't do it for me like those older ones. Have you ever listened to anything by the Lost Dogs? The 77's Mike Roe and Daniel Amos' Terry Scott Taylor are 2/4's of that alt-country act (now 2/3's since the passing of original member Gene Eugene). They are just great. I have about 5 of their CDs, having recently picked up their most recent, 2003's Nazarene Crying Towel. I would recommend Lost Dogs to ANYONE, believer or not. They're that good.
