What other biblical films are there other than Charlton Heston's "The Ten Commandments?"

I'm still undecided between "The Last Temptation" and "Life of Brian" ...
Pasolini's THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. MATTHEW is also great !

What other biblical films are there other than Charlton Heston's "The Ten Commandments?" There are actually dozens & dozens of Biblical-themed movies around. For the most part, they're schlocky, badly-acted affairs produced on about $25, starring chiselled-jaw no-names. There are some bigger-budget ones also, miniseries (I think Christian Bale played Jesus in a miniseries once! It didn't lessen my attraction to him thankfully) & theres like fifteen different versions of the Samson & Delilah story, all progressively worse. The above movies were the only Biblical ones I know that are actually good films. Phil, I haven't seen the Gospel According to Matthew, sorry.

I have seen this though! Jeremy Sisto as Jesus, Debra Messing as Mary Magdalen...wtf. By the end of it I was actually rooting for the Romans & I think I even cheered during the Crucifixion, THATS how bad this is.

Dogma is a great movie. But there was too much Affleck.

I voted for Life of Brian. The other films aren't even close to its sheer genius and sublime insights into religious truth. And Happy Easter, everyone. Seriously!

Even though I've seen Gibson's "The Passion Of The Christ" (which I found heart wrenching) my fav of all the poll movies I have seen remain Heston's "The Ten Commandments."
These are the only two from the poll questions I have seen however.

The Passion was way funnier than Life of Brian.
Okay, I hit myself for that one. Don't worry.
Would've picked Life of Brian, myself. It just seems seriously out of place in that list. Though I guess that's more reason to pick it.
