And yeah, he got my vote not just for Pavement, but also because I so dig his solo stuff. And because 'Jenny and the Ess-Dog' is still my favourite song of this decade. I'm not too too big on some of Malkmus's solo stuff, but that last album makes a top ten of this decade for me, and "Pencil Riot" is still my favorite song to come out this decade. It's on par with Wowee Zowee or The Natural Bridge. I dig the fact that we both pick Malkmus tunes as our favourite song of the decade thus far (even if JATED is still better than PR.) Just one more reason why I love you, Luke.

Leonard Cohen is not, and has never been, the man. Despite his assertion to the contrary.
You don't release an album called "I'm the Man" if you're really the man.

On any given day, I would likely choose to listen to Cohen over Dylan.
Except for obvious exceptions like If You See Her Say Hello, Don't Think Twice It's Alright and Dylan's duet with Johnny Cash on Girl From the North Country.

Leonard Cohen is pretty awesome, but he's no Lou Reed.

Please don't say Lou Reed's the man.

Well, Lou Reed is an Old Man, but he is still the Man. He is as much the Man as Dylan is the Man anyway. But I can accept that Lou Reed was the man from 1967-1975 or so (and periodically since then) if others can accept that Bob Dylan is no longer the man.
