I think It was Yorke who used to talk about The Microphones. Electronic type stuff I think, but I could be wrong.
Slick. Would love to hear what you think of The Stills when you get a chance. They seem to be picking up some momentum.

review time.
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
The Strokes' third album is not so bad, but it doesn't contain much of any ground they haven't already covered. Lots of girl/relationship songs, and Julian Casablancas sounds as good as ever. Too bad some of the songs seem to lack a purpose or message, and there's no overall flow to the record.
3/5 stars.
U2 - 7
freaking awesome. the "elevation" remix is catchy and atmospheric, the "walk on" single version is awesome, and... screw it, no more simple adjectives (plus i gotta run and finish typing this message). stuck in a momen... wait, there i go again. if you're a true u2 fan, go to target (it's a target exclusive, for some reason), throw down $5, and be happy. 7 songs that own a lot of other albums.
5/5 stars.

I'm confused. Franz Ferdinand is actually The Strokes?
Burned someone's copy of an album by Pleasure Forever, a band I'd never heard of.. Sounds a lot like Sloan. But not as good.
Got Strawberries by The Damned too. My music life's been pretty kick-ass, except I'm only burning people's stuff and can't afford to buy.

I'm confused. Franz Ferdinand is actually The Strokes? No, Proud's just being sarcastic. I don't even think they sound THAT much like the Strokes, except maybe on a few songs, but whatever.

Also, anybody familiar ... the microphones? The Microphones are pretty lo-fi, mostly acoustic guitar. I would recommend getting "The Glow, Pt 2" first.

Oh yeah, and you should definitely listen to them with headphones. You'll miss a lot of things if you don't and it won't sound as good.

Lunatic, for some reason, I've got this mental image of you and you look just like Sickboy from Trainspotting...

PunkChick -- so what's the verdict on In The City? If you like it at all, I highly recommend getting Snap and at least one of their big three (All Mod Cons, Setting Sons, Sound Affects). Fantastic records, one and all. Gawd I love(d) the Jam ...
