What kind of music do you like Amp? Paul Anka? Hear he's on tour. Picked up a dozen blow pops at the grocery .20 each and decided I better stick with hard candy unless I'm in the privacy of my own home. The slurp, slurp, slurp noises tend to be a wittle distracting...

This saturday will be 30 (thirty) days without a cigarrete and 21 days with no nicotine in any form.
Yes. For those interested in stopping smoking there are three musts:
1. You actually want to do it
2. Set a date
3. Use nicotine gum (preferably the mint 2 mg kind) and do not under ANY circumstances follow the directions on the package. Use when NEEDED or not at all.

Oh. Have I told ya'll about the cigarrete using dreams I've had? Had them twice. Its like using drugs dreams. That same panicked feeling upon waking, sweating thinking oh shit! Just smoked a cigarrete and threw away ___ (however long clean from smokes.)
The exact same feeling as using drugs dreams, whether it be drinkin', shootin', snortin' or smokin.'
That feeling of despair then that oh-so-good feeling of relief upon realization that it was just a dream.
Know what I mean?

The 4th must have essential to quit smoking is lots of hard candy! Sucking on something really does take your mind off smoking! Seriously!
I discovered Altoids...the citrus sours kind (the best kind) definately a candid picture of rock candy...
No pun intended.

What Do You Think Eric? Wanna go for it? "Benjamin McGuire, 22, left, kisses his husband, Joshua Jason, 22, in front of their home in Boston on May 3. The two were married in January."

I think he was being serious, I am.
Dood, congrats on the 30 days. That went fast (easy for me to say, I know).
I still have smoking dreams every now and then, but they are about me having one and being disappointed in myself more than anything else.

Coming soon to "I'm Afraid Of Americans" matrodameus.blogspot.com
“This is how liberty dies – to thunderous applause.”
I was reading an article about Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith and came across this quote from Senator Padme Amidala. I think it’s one of the most brilliant quotes from a movie that’s obviously drawing parallels to the state of the world (and the scariest part is that the outlines for the movie were drawn up in the 70’s during another major American conflict). I think the implications now are much more profound.
The state of this country is appalling. Sometimes I sit and wonder, is this really the same great country that I learned about in grade school? I think not. I’ve spoken to many people about America, and one of the recurring themes from many I’ve spoken to is that America is based around Christian values, which is entirely false. The Constitution of The United States Of America was drawn up to create a system of checks and balances so that there is a balance of power.
“The government of The United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion” – George Washington
Power has become far too rampant in our government, and I can’t lay blame on our leaders for this transgression, I lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of the people. Power is not taken in a democracy, it is given. The power still lies in the hands of the people, but the ignorance of the people allows the power to be shifted away.
On September 11, 2001 four commercial airplanes were hijacked. Two planes struck the World Trade Center in New York City, one struck The Pentagon in Washington DC, and one was thwarted by its passengers and crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. September 11, 2001 marked a huge turning point in this country’s future.
Fear - A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.
Fear is the greatest power over a person and a collective group. Fear is the reason many of the horrible mistakes have been made in this country since September 11, 2001. There have been two wars, a Patriot Act passed, and a "you’re with us or against us" mentality. The Patriot Act itself has a rather ridiculous name. Patriotism is the love and devotion to one’s country, and considering what this country was founded upon, patriotism sure isn’t that.
“Guard against the imposters of pretended patriotism.” – George Washington
coming soon and to be continued at my blog...
