Layla, that puppy is ridiculously cute. I know that particular one isn't yours, but I love bulldogs, they're awesome. And great, great names, by the way. If and when Steve and I ever get a dog again (which I'm dying for - but we won't do while we're both working so far from home and sometimes gone for 12 hours a day), we've already decided we'll name him Strummer.

Frankie & Henry are so cute. Except Frankie tried to chew on a pair of my ballet slippers. Troublemaker, that one. As if the real Frank Black would eat my shoes. Good luck for when Toodles gets to come home, Pat. Do you have any other pets? Nope, no other pets. Tomorrow is "De" day...I've bought so many things for Toodles: Puppy food, puppy shampoo, (she will be bathed in the tub) a pet taxi, a large bin to sleep in until she's house broke (no poopies on the bed for mwa!) a large doggie cage to hold her while I'm away from home, puppy pillows, chewy toy things, brush, a control ease pet leash (the automatic push-the-button expandable leash, the best kind) and the like. Monday she goes to the vet for a physical and shots. The breeders have Toodles trained already to sleep in a bin so that shouldn't be any hassle. Best thing about poodles...they don't shed. Although they do need to be clipped.

Pat, you may want to take that large cage back and exchange for a smaller one. Cages need to give the dog room to stand up and turn around and not much bigger. Otherwise they will go ptty in a corner and lay in the other corner. They need to learn about their nest.

The cage comes with a divider to expand the size of the cage.

Just got in with Toodles. God she's tiny. Fits in one hand. Poor baby is yapping like mad in her cage. Did get her to eat some puppy canned food. She's definitely a chicken eater!

I placed an old tennis shoe in with toodles as I noticed her chewing on my laces while I have her out (a habit to break) and put one in her cage. Toodles has her head on the upper part of the shoe. Must give her some litter type of comfort.
Any-hoo, she's stopped yapping, and is sleeping for the time being.
Went by wally world (walmart) and picked up some Purina ONE puppy chow. The breeders weaned her on this stuff. Hope she eats it. (She way preferred the canned goods.)

Survived the first night with Toodles. She yapped all night. When I woke up this morning she had pooped all over her cage and made a mess of it. No more canned for the time being me thinks. Back on the dry mixed with warm water.

Better keep Toodles on dry food all the time ...
Better for her teeth and general health ...
Less costly and "she" will never know the difference !

And if she was in a size appropriate cage - well no poopies. Pat - don't be a shitty owner cause I will go full on ballistic on your ass. Kisses.

Lessons learned in puppy rearing (thus far)
1. Keep them awake as long as possible (if you desire a full nights sleep.)
2. Dry, weaned on food only. Canned causes major shits me friends!
3. Pen appropriate size only.

I remember you posted a pic of you & your old German Shepherd a little while ago, somewhere? I forget where, but that was a gorgeous pic. Of the both of you. You're very pretty. Bitch

Strummer is a cute name for a dog. I'm having Frankie & Henry on dry food for now, only. I've never raised a puppy by myself, so I kinda forgot how energetic they are. And the chewing of everything. Frankie especially is a cheeky little shit. Henry is a little calmer, but he tends to do whatever Frankie does, which is usually something naughty. They really love trying to chew my ballet slippers & Frankie will come & sit on whatever I'm reading, probably just to annoy me. Cutest little bastards ever
