Y'all are making me pretty sad... I really want a cat, but guess what? I'm allergic so therefore I'm not allowed. I'd love to have a dog, but that's definitely out of the question. I already have names picked out... Exodus for a male, Genesis for a female. And don't get on my ass because of the biblical names, I like them.
Anyway, I have great news... A in International Business... and A in Computer Concepts and Applications. Yeah, I rock!!!
Glad to hear your pup is doing good, Pat, and it really doesn't surprise me that you'd get a bloody poodle. Shannon has a toy poodle and it's the stupidest dog ever. The thing has no personality, just wants to bounce up and down and sit on your lap. It's gay. Not to say ur dog is gay... but still... poodle? Personally, I want a Great Dane or a Beagle or a Pug... depending on space.

Man. I didn't look at any other pages before i checked this thread. If Layla hadn't said "poodles" I would have no idea who was getting shaved.

Can't take the show anymore. Simon says that Chaterine has a chance to have her "moment" and lo and behold she does. Singing "the best performance of the season". So rigged.

Matt, how allergic are you? My sister and brother-in-law are both allergic to cats - they have one, used to have two. My brother-in-law has to get allergy shots every couple of months, and my sister just has to make sure she washes her hands right away anytime she handles the cat - before she touches her face at least. I know that different people have different severtities in allergies to animals. But if yours aren't severe, you COULD try it ... just as long as you knew you had a safe back-up plan if it proved to not be a good thing.

Toodles is well, happy and healthy (thank the stars.) Took her to the vets yesterday had her first shot, some de-worming med's, heart-guard and frontline plus. She is eating well (purina one puppy chow) drinking lots of aqua, and sleeping.
I love her.

Most Great Danes are dumber than dumb !! No, most Great Danes just can't be bothered to do what you think they should do. They know what their job is, and as soon as you give 'em a wild boar to chase, they'll do it. In the mean time, try not to take up too much room on their sofas, beds, etc. My Dane isn't a rocket scientist, but frankly, you don't need a 130+ pound dog to be too smart. Terriers would get in a lot less trouble if they weren't so smart. Danes are great dogs, you just have to accept them for what they are.

Oh yeah, CONGRATS on your grades, Matt. You should do a little something to reward yourself.

EVERY Great Danes I know cannot run for shit because they are plagued with hips problems ...
Sad but true !!

Avalanche moves all too well off-lead ... that dog is just built for speed, with this loping long stride.
I actually have a beef with a lot of Dane breeders when it comes to size. There are those whose dogs are too delicate, too light to actually corner and catch boar, the dogs who are too fragile to mix it up with their quarry. Then there are these huge beasts who can't run fast or far enough to do their jobs, and who are all-too-often hobbled by hip dysplasia or other disorders. A Dane is NOT a mastiff, it is an extremely large sight-hound, and needs to be able to do its job. A 200 pound Great Dane is impressive as hell, but it's not a German Boar Hound. Similarly, a Dane under a hundred pounds really isn't able to do its job, either.
And like all giant breeds, Danes should only be mated once they've been certified free from genetic hip disorders and other such problems. There are too many health problems in these dogs purely because of sloppy breeding.
