Drugs have taken their toll on Boy George... Boy George to Pick Up Trash in Aug. HeatJul 31, 6:37 AM EST The Associated Press NEW YORK -- Boy George will perform his court-ordered community service by picking up trash on city streets in the August heat, a sanitation spokesman said. The one-time Culture Club singer will be issued a shovel, broom, plastic bags and gloves when he reports for five days of work on Aug. 14, department spokesman Vito Turso said. "This is the epitome of community service," Turso told the Daily News for Monday editions. "It's not like he's going to be working in an air-conditioned office." Born George O'Dowd, the singer has struggled with drug problems for years. He was ordered to do community service after pleading guilty in March to false reporting of an incident. He called police with a bogus report of a burglary at his lower Manhattan apartment in October, and the responding officers found cocaine inside. Turso's statement was the first indication of what sort of work the singer would be given. He could be assigned to pick up streets in Chinatown, Little Italy, Nolita or parts of the Lower East Side. O'Dowd, 45, became an '80s icon with his androgynous appearance and vocals on hits like "Karma Chameleon" and "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" A Manhattan judge threatened the singer with jail time if he failed to complete his five days before Aug. 28.

You looking forward to Janet Jackson's new album Amp? Think it comes out in September. 20 years old is the name of the new album.

Not really. I heard the first single with Nelly and its more blah. Her last album is the first one I did not buy. I have imports, maxis, etc. and she just lost it right after The Velvet Rope for me. That is one of my fave albums by her but becaue it didnt sell well, she decided to go popalicious and dumb and release "All for You". There are decent songs on there (Trust a Try is actually a terrific experiment in pop/R&B/rock/performance art gone mad) but there is so much drivel. "Somebody To Call My Lover" comes to mind. Sad really. I always championed her, but she has made herself completely irrelevant now. What she should do is release a fantastic box set to celebrate 20 years (even though its more like 25 if you count her first two albums). Fun new mixes of classics like Miss You Much - Control - Pleasure Principle, etc. Have you ever heard her first two cds? There are songs on there (Hold Back The Tears, Don't Stand Another Chance, Come Give Your Love To me) that blow away anything she has done in the past 4 years.

Knowing my fondness for Tweety Bird a friend bought me this cool gift. A set of 4 floor mats for my auto. I found an exact picture on a looney tunes shop website:

Have you ever heard her first two cds? No, "Control" was my first J.J. album. Heres the new video. Hope this single "Call On Me" doesn't reflect the entire album. Janet's best music has always been her bubble-gum-pop dance music, not her ballads. This was the first time I have heard "Call On Me." I like it in the sense that it is a great "making out" song. That or great going-to-sleep music. video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?g=1683a325-c006-4bb3-97cd-22756ec50cdb&f=01/64&fg=copy

One of the things Amp and I always agreed on is how great "The Velvet Rope" is. Listening to Free Xone right now.
My favorite song by her is still "If" though. That song kicks ass.
And yes, she sucks now.

"Love will never do (without you)" is my favorite Janet Jackson song.
Made traveling plans for the thanksgiving holiday today. Will spend 8 days in Boston visiting me mum and her hubby. Got a great deal on airfare. Saved about 50% by planning three months in advance.
