I forgot to mention John Carpenters THE THING. circa mid 80s. I threw up when I was 9 years old after seeing that--scared the ever living shit out of me. Its still a good movie (made up for the FOG!) I friggin' LOVE this movie!! Some great lines in it and the music is killer in spots!

the last movie i watched was 'quills' with kate winslet. she's hot. anyway, although i've never read any of the marquis de sade's infamous tales, the movie sure raised some interesting questions about censorship. kate winslet's character claims that by living through the lives of the various characters in de sade's stories, their cathartic force enabled her to be a "good woman" in life. still, such stories in the hands of the feeble-minded led to her death. one of the loonies in her asylum imitates the plot in a story when he kills her. so censorship: how far should it extend? should it exist at all?

I wonder if de Sade would've wrote much if censorship didn't exist.
By the way, The Fountain was the last film I saw (last weekend). Review will be forthcoming.

This I find to be one of the most compelling questions of our age. I can't say I have any answers as of yet. I'll have to think on it

Cmon LUKE! You saw some positives! Enlighten us! Ah, I just thought it was a good time, over-the-top, just fun to watch. I wasn't really expecting cheesy in a Troma sense, more like in the "greatest Sci-Fi Channel movie of all-time way." How many quality Warners cartoons are still out there, and how many were permanently damaged by Ted Turner?
