What song did they cover? "To Love Somebody" I haven't heard it yet. But I will tomorrow (if that's when the album drops).

...then again, maybe not.
I caught billy's uninspired, non-riveting, lazy assed performance on Letterman . . . much to my dismay (at least it saved me the $13 I would have otherwise spent on the new album).
Not gunna do it.

*sigh* Makes me sad is all, Endy. Of course part of me still insists on giving the ol' boy another chance, scrapin the bottom for a lost gem or 2. I'll hit the used bins in . . . a week. Save 4 bucks.
But the weird thing is that news of Billy's personal ad he took out in his home daily paper. How he said he intends on "reforming and revitalizing" the Smashing Pumpkins. Has he already laid the groundwork for this -? Obviously Jimmy C's in. I would tend to think that Iha's heart would most certainly be in it - - and he could probably split his time between APC & the new 'Kins (if Maynard can do it. . . ). That leaves .. . D'arcy. Oh, yeah. Our beloved D'arcy . . . she's the card up his sleeve, it's gotta be.
I'd be first in line for another Pumpkins grown off the vine...

I actually really love that new Corgan album... but I've been sticking my neck out alot this year methinks... I listened to it from start to finish a couple of nights ago... on first listen I admit I was less than overwhelmed, but this little thing opens itself out and delivers it's magic with time and as you work your way through the subtleties and nuances.
Or I'm just a deluded Pumpkins fan who never grew up.
Either way I don't care... I love the album.
Not sure about the cover artwork though...

yeah that cover kinda freaks me out.
But I think I'll take a cue from Scottsy . . . .and eventually give in with a sigh and get it. It's just a matter of time...

The more I listen to it the more I come to love it... It's no Siamese Dream, I actually listen to the Zwan album and hear SD all over that recording (that's not bad thing either!) It's more like, as my friend described it, a more upbeat Adore".... and I'd add that it has a smattering of Machina about it... with perhaps a tip of the hat with the more laid back, electronic programming tinged tracks on Mellon Collie... overall it just works for me, and I'm savouring it more with each listen.
I really hope I haven't given you a dud tip though Thorny!

I'm not sure I can actually make a top 25, but I'll try.
01) Spoon - Gimme Fiction 02) Decemberists - Picaresque 03) Los Super Seven - Heard it On the X 04) Akron/Family - Akron/Family 05) Magnolia Electric Co. - What Comes After the Blues 06) Of Montreal - The Sunlandic Twins 07) Super Furry Animals - Love Craft 08) Sleater-Kinney - The Woods 09) M Ward - Transistor Radio 10) New Pornographers - Twin Cinema 11) Mountain Goats - Sunset Tree 12) Magnolia Electric Co. - Trials and Errors (live album) 13) The National - Alligator 14) Bloc Party - Silent Alarm 15) The Kills- No Wow
The only album I'm really anticipating for the rest of the year is The Constantines new record "Tournament of Hearts." Which judging by the way the new SFA leaked will hopefully be around by the end of the month.
I guess I'm also looking forward to the new My Morning Jacket also.
