Spoon put on one of the worst shows i've seen in ages two months ago.

Yeah, they're a bunch of pussies live. I actually saw them live before I'd really given any of their albums a spin, and so I was pretty shocked when I liked what I was hearing off the record.

Man, I have to say I think that's why I hated them for so long. I had only seen them live and man, do they SUCK! Deep nuts on the chin, just suck. Having said that I heard the new record and I have to say that in a studio atmosphere the guy has got talent. I also think he has a huge ego and is as ridiculous as a lawn gnome shoved up the ass of some hillbilly at a piggly wiggly. Still, the new record is pretty good.

The only live stuff I've heard was a short set on KCRW which wasn't that bad but it wasn't nearly as good as the albums. Gimmie Fiction will easily be in my top ten at the end of the year.

So new Dandy Warhols just a couple weeks away...anyone heard anything? "Smoke it"? Yes I've heard "Love Is The New Feel Awful","Everyone Knows Your Insaine" and "Smoke It" is much, much beter than the other 2 But my friend won't give me his advance copy to hear the rest to decide,I miss the "Monkeyhouse style of the last album already though Thanks for giving me a laugh Skvoris(HATE,HATE,) -SPOON'S latest tour is the best I've seen them play yet they were fantastic back in April, and great again 4 weeks ago -Clap Your Hands is nice but I prefer Talking Heads -Bloc Party will not rest till world domination -

That's cool, patten. I have no idea why the Dandys get so much shit for Monkey House...I love all of their albums, but that's the only one that I can pop in just about anywhere, anytime, and get in a great mood. Yeah, it ripped off all that Duran Duran type stuff, but c'mon, they did it a good four years before anyone else...
Still, though, really looking forward to the new one.

You're also permitted a bit more latitude in ripping of Duran DUran, when Nick RHodes is working on your project.
Imo, the Dandy's have yet to really make any bad music.

I didn't mind Monkey House.... a good fun album, which is pretty much what I get from all of the Dandy's music... new track "Smoke It" sounds pretty good to me as yet again another fun, up - vibe sorta track. Not a bad band those Dandys as far as I am concerned!

Skvor, I dig it, especially impressive with it just being you. Lots of emotion coming out of that stuff.

For any Bob Mould fans, I think his new one is pretty decent. I would put it near the top of his solo stuff, which is pretty touch and go anyway, but more in the vein of Sugar than he's ventured in a bit.
Have I ever mentioned how much better Sugar were than Husker Du? They were.
