Patten - got the LCD tracks off of Soulseek. I can hook you up if want -- though I have no idea if you're into P2P networks and all that stuff. I also have leaked copies of the Bloc Party, Bravery, and (by end of tonight hopefully) Prefuse 73 discs...

AIQ- I don't get mad ,even I thought that was lame and that's why I threw it in,Yeah a journal would be a little too personal not to mention how many people would think my reality is full of shit (HATE,HATE,HATE @ the Haters Ball)
Ndy- I really should use my production studio powers for evil but the engineer is a real pain in the ass with downloads so I'll just wait for the free promos and my disc player is already full for now, However what's the early verdict on the Bravery and does LCD Soundsystem surpass the latest DFA compliation?

My friend Jimmy told me last night that Tower Records has my #1 album this week as their #4 seller and #7 is The Shins "Oh Inverted World" have the indie kids spread the word to those bored with the state of rock on radio or is Tower trying to trick the posers into buying their picks I'll check this out myself. The Top 10 Albums in Atlanta this Week10. Rilo Kiley- More Adventurous(5) last week, (3 weeks) 9. Dizzee Rascal- Showtime(3) last week (3 weeks ) 8. Death From Above 1979- You're a Woman, I'm a Machine(8) last week (3 weeks) 7. Bright Eyes- Digital Ash in a Digital Urn(-) (debut) 6. Hope of the States- The Lost Riots(2) last week, (3 weeks) 5. And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead- Worlds Apart(-) (debut) 4. Bright Eyes- I'm Wide Awake It's Morning(-) (debut) 3. M83- Before The Dawn Heals Us(-) (highest debut this week) 2. The Dears- No Cities Left(1) last week (3 weeks, 2 weeks @ #1) 1. The Arcade Fire- Funeral/EP(4) last week (3 weeks) Since their live show on Wed. Night and with the first Ice Storm of 05 I've been playing this mix over and over The EP is just as strong as Funeral Much like My Headphone Pick of the Week not a classic yet nor even an album Fiery Furnaces-EPLet's see it's 45 min longer than most EP's has 10 tracks more like an album. Best of all it takes the FF formula of storytelling, wacked out drumbreaks and shortens those 12 min suites to 5-6 min. If all the hype about being difficult to listen to on Blueberry Boat (78 min album) Put you off from testing their sound This is a Perfect Introduction,Very Shins- Like

First Thoughts on M83- Before the Dawn Heals UsThis Rocks and Soothes all your bitching and moaning about why can't electronic music sound like a riot and then transform into something so beautiful you'd want to hear in a nice dream as your drifting away. Anthony Gonzalez goes it alone this round and proves if this music career doesn't work, Soundtracks will be his next career move. Is it any Good you ask? Well M83 has passed Dj Shadow with this as my favorite producer of atmosphere and layers His last album Dead Cities ,Red Seas, Lost Ghosts was my late pick for best album of 2003. Before the Dawn is on par and might even be a better album to early to know " Don't Save Us From The Flames,"Teen Angst",and "Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun" are at the level of brillance as say "Gone" on Dead Cities If you did hear the last one the best example of the sound is "America" and "In Church" blend runs rampant all over this and that is surely not a weak criticism or a negative I doubt any other headphone masterpiece will reach the levels of greatness this is (8) or a (9) after just 4 listens

[ b]First Impressions on Bright Eyes Digital Ash in A Digital Urn/I'm Wide Awake It's Morning[/b] HE'S BACK and this time he brought more friends who you know all their music, but do you really care All You need is the Boy Genuis Conor. Both albums are vintage Bright Eyes (although I still prefer Desaparecidos) I'm going to sit here on my kingsize bed and write songs that make every musician jealous so I get taged unfairly as the emo prince or whaterver Dashboard is proclaimed to be. Next Dylan- WHOA slow down He doesn't quite have the voice but his lyrics and storytelling recall more Tom Waits than Dylan This Phrase in the liner notes(Wide Awake's) sums up why I think people are judging this one more harshly For the Most Part this Record was recorded in Feb of 2004 in Lincoln Neb.Why does that matter? Both albums are about moving out of your comfrot zone Conor moved while making this from NEB TO NYC Everything about Wide Awake was premeditated the songs were picked the b-sides decided the trip home to Lincoln he had to take to properly finish his album Ahh but Digital is the sound "hey what if we try this" and I'll send you the demos and will work out the arrangements. Wide Awake is a Monet Painting("Poison Oak", "Landlocked Blues","Lua") it's the closest anybody ever attempted to make their own "Freewheeling or Another Side" in recent memory a stunner that sounds just as simple as The highlights from "Lifted " But why do I believe I'll continue to listen to Digital Ash more ? Is it the experiments that breakthrough much the same as Desaparecidos at it's peak ("Easy Lucky Free",Arc of Time") No I think it's the fact there's so much to discover about an album that sounds like nothing you've ever heard Wide Awake is the "Bends" As Digital Ash is to "Kid A" Both confirm what I knew after "Lifted"/"Read Music Speak Spanish" Conor is scaring the shit out of Ryan Adams(3 albums?) and this kid's gonna shake the foundation of popular music(Billboard #1 and #2 come next week?) Wide Awake is a (9) right now Digital is an (8) but I 'd expect that to be higher later

Yeah, the Arcade Fire EP is great. "No Cars Go" is on par with my favorite Funeral track, Neighborhood 3 (Power Out). And it's fantastic live.
I was very unimpressed with Before the Dawn Heals Us upon first listen, though maybe that'll change.
The Bravery full length is pretty much their two EPs plus a couple other random tracks, most of which I already own and killed on my iPod long ago. It's great though.
LCD is really good. On par, if not better, than the DFA Comp 2.

Yesterday I listened to the Chemical Brothers " Push The Button It's a solid better than average(ex "Come With Us") but since I don't have time to drop my knowledge here's a particualry odd review from David Goldstein of coke machine glow Seldom have two dudes done so much with so little Reasonably Intellegent indviduals pay $40 a ticket to attend an electrobank filled 2 silhouettes as the run around and throw thier arms in the air,but even after seeing the Chemical Brothers twice I'm still not convinced, they are actually there Strange open for an album review after he mentions when your in the moment of their show you really don't care what a high it is blah, blah. Then this nugent I listen to the Chemical Brothers for the same reason that I generally refuse to watch any pornography flimed after 1983: Moneyshots ring truer when accompanied by some degree of depth Every Chemical Brothers album kicks ass at the beginning, slumps in the middle, keeps a slot open for Spiritualized sounding ballad, and rallies big time at the end Push The Button follows this pattern to a tee, but it simply sound like Tom and Ed were trying harder this time out or took better drugsThat's mostly true and funny and finally Push the Button still contains a far greater share of ego boosters than I would have expected from them at this point in their career, Furthermore it's excellent for annoying the shit out of my oversensitive downstairs neighborSO TRUE and isn't that why you became a DJ to annoy the shit out of other people who don't get the music Push the Button is either 7 or 8 right now

Fuck, I don't know how I missed this, but apparently it leaked on the 20th. FYI, it's titled "Guero". Whether or not it's reached the Slsk ranks yet is yet to be determined...
Lord knows, I've had troubles enough getting the new New Order and it's officially been leaked for a couple weeks too...
