I'm looking forward to that New Order album... Beck is always a wait and see proposition for me. Loved Sea Change and Odelay, can't really stomach much of Midnight Vultures...

Muchos excited for the new New Order. I had no idea that there was one until just now. I absolutely love Get Ready, and I'm glad they're not finishing up with that one.
Hopefully the new Beck is in the lines of Sea Change. Up until that album, he was easily one of my five or six most hated musicians, and I can't listen to Odelay, Mutations, Midnight Vultures, ANY of that crap without puking. I got turned onto Sea Change because someone on the boards (Bowiglou, maybe?) told me that they, too, despised Beck and everything he's done, but LOVE Sea Change. Turned out to be one of the best albums of that year. I LOVE it.
Very much looking forward to new Garbage, although I hope it's not "progressively downhill" from their last album. C'mon, Shirl, surprise me. According to Vig, it's gonna be more rockin', but who knows what that means these days.
Of course, my most highly anticipated album for the upcoming year, the one which has me absolutely creaming my pants is...
new Dandy Warhols! Woo hoo!

Well then, you're not gonna like Guero much at all. Of all of his albums, Sea Change is the one that it sounds the least like.
Still can't find the new New Order. Dammit.

My personal Beck favorite has to be "One Foot In The Grave" and I'm one of those that is guilty of loving everything the guy has done. I personally think that this one is definitely going to be more of a return to form than anything else.
I've heard the first single off the new New Order and I have to say that it's just not bad. It's a little bit of the old but it's unfortunately mixed with the bland sounds of "Republic" which I personally found to be a total piece of SHITE! I still have hopes for this one though since I really liked the last one that they did.

From what I can surmise from the Beck that has been leaked on the web, the new album is gonna be goddamn awesome. It incorporates all elements of Beck, you can just hear a little from every incarnation of him, but it all sort of seems to be toned down a little bit. There's definite Odelay on there, but it's not as young sounding. Some Mellow Gold. I even hear Vultures. And I do hear Sea Change, but only in his voice, not in the tone of the songs. If that makes sense. Man. I can't wait for the official release.

I am looking towards that Beck album with quite a degree of enthusiasm... it does sound like he is harnessing all of his best elements of his music and putting into one great album... most intriguing!

If you're itching for some more Avalanches you should download "gimix," it's kind of a preview of Since I Left You, but with a bunch of samples(bob dylan, cyndi lauper odb) that had no chance of ever being cleared.

really??!! sounds awesome... I remember hearing on Triple J radio over here about all the difficulties the Avalanches had clearing copyrights for "Since I left You".... made creatijng the album a real nightmare in some places... I'd imagine there'd be all sorts of alternate versions of songs laying around the place... I'll have to look into that stuff!
