UK pop singer in apparent suicide fall at show
Sat Aug 21, 12:30 pm ET
BRUSSELS – The lead singer of a British pop trio climbed a telecommunications mast behind the main stage at a Belgian rock festival and leaped to his death in the parking lot below, police said Saturday.
Twenty-two-year-old Charles Haddon of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool died late Friday during the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, a town in eastern Belgium. District attorney Marc Rubens said police were treating the death as a suicide.
Festival organizers said Haddon's family has been notified.
On Thursday, Michael Been, frontman for the U.S. group The Call, died of an apparent heart attack at the same festival. The 60-year-old was working as the soundman for his son's band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Then there was the concert goer out west who did pretty much the same thing a day or so earlier....only he chose to have his body land on stage right next to the lead singer.

yeah, that cali one was at a show by swell season. a more gentle act you couldn't find probably. you'd think at a slayer show 'well, ok that makes sense..' marketa iglova and glen hansard were the stars of the incredibly romantic movie, 'once', they fell in love got married and are now split up but still tour their band. i'd say their lives probably already were pretty fucking complicated. then some numbnuts asswipe takes the term 'stage dive' veryvery literally. and almost right on top of them....
'...don't take the brown acid...'
'...tony couldn't fly, tony died. he was a friend of mine...'

Giant hay bale kills former ELO cellist EmailPrint..– Mon Sep 6, 9:04 am ET
LONDON (Reuters) – A giant bale of hay has killed a founding member of the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) band after it tumbled down a hill and crashed into his van.
Cellist Mike Edwards, 62, died after the 600 kg (1,323 lb) bale rolled down a steep field in Devon, southern England, smashed through a hedge and careered on to the road.
He died instantly in the freak accident on Friday afternoon.
Police said they used photographs and YouTube footage to identify Edwards and are investigating whether the bale may have fallen from a tractor working on farmland near the road.
Edwards, who played with the band between 1972 and 1975, is believed to have swerved into another vehicle as the bale crushed his cab.

apparently something 'sudden' and 'severe' and 'undisclosed' took her down. she was doing shows a bit ago. what the heck happened? in the meantime, i might have to give them a listen...
