I just read a post where the poster said, "I just can't get into Weezer, no offense to those who love them"
Well, I love Weezer, but there are many bands that I have tried to like becasue everybody else said how good they were, but they just didn't grab me at all.
Bands I Just Could Not Get Into......even though I tried. "No Offense to those who love them"
Modest Mouse Wilco Yo La Tengo Broken Social Scene
How about you guys? I like Weakerthans WAY better than Modest Mouse, and I like Weezer way better than Wilco. Who are the bands you wanted to like but couldn't get into?

I get why TOOL isn't for everyone. They're not a mass appeal type band by any stretch.

Nah, they just sound like another bunch of boring old guys to me. Muchos respect, but they do nothing for these ears.

I'm almost ashamed when I tell people that I bought Being There, Summerteeth, Mermaid Ave, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot all when they were new and hot, and not one of them struck me as good.
Same thing happened when I bought I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One, Moon Over Antartica, and You Forgot It In People. I tried, believe me. Is there something wrong with me?

I bought Daydream Nation but it irritated me.

If you really like that latest Weezer album, then just maybe...
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I like Wilco in spots- I like Wilco a LOT in spots- but after a few listens, I found myself skipping tracks on Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Seen them live twice, too, and they never really do much for me there.
I dunno how I'd feel about I Can Hear... if I hadn't seen most of it live before I heard the album. I've always loved Yo La Tengo (well, always enough), but shit, those dudes are something else live.
Daydream Nation is one of my favorite albums ever, for sure.

I like the new Weezer a lot. Daydream Nation was in my collection 15 years ago and it didn't impress me. We are all different.
On a slightly different topic; Neko - I liked Furnace Room Lullaby quite a bit, Blacklisted very little.

Sonic Youth Except for specific songs here and there. I keep trying on them too. Daydream Nation and I have been trying to connect for a few years now, but I did really like Sonic Nurse and it is easily my preferred album as of now.
