I see where Luke's coming from. I'm not so worried about who might get my mix, because my taste is impeccable, but if I get a CD full of guys playing harmonicas, it will be hard for me to be complimentary.

I see lots of early Bob Dylan and John Mayall's tunes in every Riley's CD mixes ...

Riley, I'm sure I can make an all-harmonica disc ... Springsteen, Dylan, Petty, oh yeah ...
NP: Paul Weller, As Is Now (the afternoon has finally blown away some of the a.m. clouds ... this is a fabulous record, everyone should buy it, and Weller should give me a cut of his North American royalties!)

Yeah, I would tailer my mix to other's tastes if I know who I'm making for....whenever I get Riley's name I'm going to send him a whole CD of harmonica solos and Bon Jovi.
PS. I would love a Slayer box set, thank you Santa.

Shit, I guess I better start trying to keep track of who's in on this.
Here's who I think is in on it so far, provided the first theme is your favorite songs. If I've missed anyone, let me know:
Myself Phil Skvor Luke Scottsy Rileydog Mantis kmc Ayinger glen maarts (provided we allow enough time for him to take care of his move)
JLLM samples Melon (although he hasn't posted here since bowing out of the local music theme, so we might have to direct him back here) Mr. Holzman
So that's 15 people. Not bad for the first time around. This weekend I'll go ahead and draw names.
Oh, and if anyone really objects to paying international postage, then let me know and I guess I can make sure you aren't matched up with someone in a different country. But seriously, don't be a dick.

Good point on postage Rocky. I think I'd better skip until such time as we're all so tech we can do this thing virtually. Posting 5 or 6 CDs to North America would wipe me out for the month... damn.
Still, I'd only be too lazy to follow through, most likely, so perhaps it's for the best. I still owe luke his Muse CD.

Jesus, I think a lot of us probably could do this virtually. Maybe that's an option for postage?
I dunno, though...I could probably share favorite songs on Soulseek or Limewire or whatever, but that just doesn't compare to getting something personalized in the mail.
And Jesus, friend, I currently own two Muse albums, so I dunno if you need to worry about it anymore. You lazy bastard.

I could probably only do it once a month...how often were you thinking about doing it?

I could probably only do it once a month...how often were you thinking about doing it? Definately not more often than that, I wouldn't think. Gotta give everyone time to listen to their mixes and work on the new ones and such. Plus, well, people might get tired of it if we do it too much.

Air Mail (first class)Postage from Canada to Australia will set you back 14 CDN loonies for shipping 5 CDs.
CDs sent by boat (leaking submarines in our case) is half than that !
Better send more than one CD down under...

I'm In and I'll try not make the Atlanta music as obvious as most would think

Hold on to that Atlanta mix, patten. The first one is just going to be your all time favorite songs. But now you've got me curious about what you have in mind, as I really don't know much about Atlanta-based music other than Outkast, the Black Crowes, and, um...Tag Team? I don't know.
Updated:
Myself Phil Skvor Luke Scottsy Rileydog Mantis kmc Ayinger glen maarts samples Ken Holzman patten
Mantis
I agree with Luke that it's a lot more fun to get real mail, but I for one would be perfectly willing to receive it electronically if whoever I draw so chooses.
