Just so I'm clear. We abandoned, at least this time around, the notion of a local flavour mix, and we're doing pure favorites? I'll have some overlap here if that's the case, so it's all good, just want to make sure I'm following the rules. You are correct, sir.

Okay, with that in mind (and a strong ale or two in hand), I did a rapid pull from the stacks and then quickly (read: w/o much thought) weeded out a few CDs to take tunes off of for Maarts "Ayinger Fav's"....low and behold it actually came out to 15 too!
So after a lonnnnnng swim, this is what's going to wash up on the Aussie shore:
1 - "II B. S." - CHARLES MINGUS 2 - "Rags" - THE WATERBOYS 3 - "Waning Moon" - PETER HIMMELMAN 4 - "Baby Blue" - BADFINGER 5 - "Unsatisfied" - THE REPLACEMENTS 6 - "Warrior" - THIN LIZZY 7 - "Alexandra, Nit Nur Du" - BAP 8 - "Red Hot Mama" - FUNKADELIC 9 - "Bike" - PINK FLOYD 10 - "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" - CANNONBALL ADDERLY 11 - "Black Metallic" - CATHERINE WHEEL 12 - "Astronomy" - BLUE OYSTER CULT 13 - "Parisienne Walkways" - GARY MOORE 14 - "Street Cafe" - ICEHOUSE 15 - "Come Sunday" - DUKE ELLINGTON
Hope there's an atlas handy as it's a bit over the map in spots.....

fuck.....looking back through that list, it's all so 20th Century shit.....didn't mean to go so old skool.....hell, I did have some current stuff pulled but it jus' didn't make the cut.... ah, well,,,,,there IS the ProgRock disc to come too......
ah, these mixes work well tho' (IMO perhaps).....hell, the acid Floyd into Cannonball Adderly into Catherine Wheel....*whew* there's a set probably NOT geared to appear on your local FM station!! hee,,,,,at least I think it melds well! watch Maarts move again once this lands on the doorstep!

oh,,,,and, er,,,,,"Street Cafe" is such[/i] a winner of a tune.....just hadn't heard it in soooo fuckin' long.....
~ hope there's concurance there ~
but then,,,,the Ellington piece that closes.....ah my dear people,,,,I challenge you to find anything that beats the sweetness captured on it....the most delicate slice of tenderness, ever.
Period.

Okay, just saw the list. I'll try and get Phil's list up soon, but I'm pretty busy these days, so it may be around the end of the week. I'll be working solid today from twenty minutes ago until 10:00 tonight...then tomorrow is my birthday, so my mom's coming in...may try and get the list down on Wednesday or Thursday.
I'll stick with my "favorites" but I don't know if I'm going to do a "top 15 favorites" so much as a "fifteen of my favorites." Phil will still be seeing some Pumpkins, Peppers, Pixies, and Local H, but I'll also be including some Blue Runners, Wynton Marsalis, and Ween, as they are my Zappa.
It'll be a fun mix, and I'll be sure to toss in something his metalhead kids may enjoy.

Eldest Son was listening to his usual Power Metal yesterday afternoon but it became suspiciously quiet for a few minutes so I went in the computer room and listened to the music he had on... I couldn't believe my ear so I had to ask him what he was listening to... Johnny Cash, he said. He's cool !! My son is listening to JOHNNY CASH !! There is still hope for that boy ... (LoL)

I'm working on kMc's. I think that it will be quite pleasing as I'm going through a huge list. Let's just say it will be a wreck that will cause total emotional codependance.

Erm, Rocky, um, dude, like who am I supposed to be sending a CD to? Whoa there, Melon, my apologies. Looks like I made a bit of a booboo and left you off that list. But by process of elimination, you would be sending yours to... well, shit, looking over the list, it looks like this is what happened: Whenever I pulled your name, I misread it for Mantis, as he's on there as sending two of them (one to me and one to Riley). So...yeah, you're either sending it to me or Riley. I guess you and Mantis can figure out which of you wants which of us I guess? Really sorry about that. I guess there are still some kinks to work out in my system of scribbling people's names down on a piece of paper and picking them out of a hat.

Uh...ok you get Rocky I suppose, that way he won't get upset that I'm not really following the guide lines very well.

Mantis, did you used to be DED. I've been wondering for some time who you were previously. For some reason I haven't figured it out yet.
