Well there's a big difference between "least favorite" and "most worthless."
But for me, trying to pick a "least favorite" member of the Clash is like picking my least favorite Beatle ... an awfully hard task that ultimately reveals nothing.
Of course, I thought Jones was just too cool back in the early eighties, and so I'm more than a bit biased here.

Man, the Beatles thing is really easy for me: It's the ones that are still alive. Two down, two more to go.

Skvor- You're talking sense on not just U2, but also Bright Eyes and the Libertines. I also have a sneaking feeling I can't disagree with your appraisal of CYHSY.

However, the sneaking suspicion that I cannot agree nor even condone skvor's views on the Beatles never even had a chance to creep up on me: I was offended by his sentiment immediately!

(but I'm not offended by you, skvor; just that particular sentiment;)

I'd rather sit through a DMB marathon than even a single Phish recording. There is a band whose popularity completely escapes me.

^^^^ I'd rather sit through Phish than DMB, but I'm not too fond on the former either. I'm not much on the jam bands (the Dead is OK), although I like jamming -- like Pearl Jam turning "Even Flow" into a ten minute song by jamming, or the loose groovin' jams of Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox. But yeah, Phish does nothing for me.

Well, here's the thing: George Harrison was my favorite Beatle and he's dead now. Are they ever going to reform? No. Are they probably the most important band in history? Yes. They and George Martin are responsible for so much. But, I'm burned out on the Beatles because for the last 25 years I've run it into the ground. That and while I like Paul's new album, maybe it's just time to let it go, the legacy, the whole bit.

I've given them many chances but I have come to the conclusion that I simply don't like Art Brut or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah...

Well topping my "don't get it, probably never will" list is Fraqnz Ferdinand... what is so good about their music??!! Really, honestly, beside having a catchy singalong riff, what is everyone creaming their pants about??! To me it sounds about as accomplished as that stupid "Come On Eileen" song from the eighties, the band who did that song eludes me right now...
... As will Franz Ferdinand twenty years from now, probably...
Really, there is nothing to go ga ga over in their stuff. It's fairly plain to me...
Ok, so now at the risk of again offending... the Strokes... what in fuck's name is so good about them?! Some basic riffs and a mumbling singer rehasing old seventies punk themese and looks?! These guys were once touted as the saviours of rock... if that's the case, then I pity rock... saviours?! Ughh... Don't get it.
And I just never "got" Wilco... I tried but I found Yankee Hotel Foxtrotnot without charm... but largely boring...
