come on...admit it....theres nothing better than lumbering detuned riff monsters with tons of spaced out wah pedal guitar noodling....like kyuss or nebula or fu manchu-whereas it may not be my absoloute favorite....its always fun...and worth some discussion.
and you dont even have to be a stoner to like it....god knows im not....

haha - nice thread choice.
My favourite thing about stoner rock - besides the weed & the great music & the boys with long hair- is the way stoner rock bands go blue in the face denying they're stoner rock.
Just embrace it already. Ashlee Simpson admitted she's crapola, why can't you admit you're stoner rock?

wow....just another thing that makes me realize how much i missed the rs boards.....every time ive had to listen to my roommate try to play "layla" for the past two years ive had the image of angelina jolie pop into my head......but i was never able to explain it.......i finally remember why

i was just listening to nebulas bbc sessions the other day....holy shit....i found these online a few moths back...... homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~humrickh/Nebula/and you cant smoke up and listen to sabbath without planet caravan. it just doesnt work. |

I consider most of Jimi's material to be good stoner rock...especially the later Hendrix family releases like Blues, South Saturn Delta, and First Rays of the New Rising Sun; not to mention his live stuff like Gypsies, and Berkely....the latter he even starts out by asking the audience to give them a few minutes while they tune their instruments, finish their joints and jam.
