MM is one of those bands that'll never fall out of favour with me.
"Night on the Sun" is probably one of my favourites.

For me it's between LCW and TMA. LCW has Trucker Atlas which is a pretty horrible song, but TMA has 3 song stretch that just kills the momentum of the album. They're both too long, but I think LCW has the higher peaks so I'm going to vote for it.

My favourite 3-song stretch on TMA is "The Cold Part", "Alone Down There" and "The Stars Are Projectors". I get the feeling that's the exact part of the album you're referring to as a momentum killer? I like long, sprawling, and preferably miserable songs though. The last 3 minutes of "Life Like Weeds" being a perfect case in point. The subtlest of Mousegasms.

Trucker's Atlas is my favorite Modest Mouse song, definitely.
And I really don't think MaA would work as a concept without those three songs in the middle.

I voted for "Interstate 8" as it's the only release that I haven't grown tired of. It's still the best one in my opinion. It has the best lyrics and songwriting.

Doolittle beats Surfer Rosa. To a pulp.
M&A, Long Drive..., Building Something...(I'm with Riley on that one), LCW, Good News...and...the rest.

My best friend loves Modest Mouse and has tried to get me into them for the longest time. I never could get past the vocals. I do like some of what I heard, though. BUT, Built To Spill is WAYYYY better, if you ask me.

I just won a personal bet with myself. I actually thought - do I bother putting that one on the list? And then, I swear to God, I thought might as well, just for Skvor. I'm fuckin' psychic, me.

Well good! Thank you.
"Surfer Rosa" still pounds the ass out of any other Pixies record. For one thing it has serious low end and some balls to it. While I love the song writing of Doolittle, I still prefer the young noise college rock band without a cult of disaffected nerds and just playing in smokey bars. This record put them on the map. "Bone Machine" alone is more powerful than anything on "Doolittle".

Comparing Built to Spill and Modest Mouse is like comparing Florida Oranges and California Oranges. There just isn't much of a difference if you ask me.

Built To Spill sounds like Neil Young. Modest Mouse sounds like Neil Young if someone was pulling his pubes out one by one.

Musically they are very similar. Almost the same really, vocall and lyrically I think Brock wins hands down. While I love Built to Spill, I'm more of a Modest Mouse fan.

Modest Mouse are much more dynamic than Built To Spill. Are the rumours true that BTS have a new one dropping this year? I hope so.
